Genshin Impact releases Ayato character teaser, fans thrilled

Following Genshin Impact’s latest livestream, upcoming content for the popular RPG has been revealed. Aside from the introduction of the new Chasm region, events and re-run banners for Venti and Ayaka have been officially announced.  

However, the highlight of Version 2.6 patch is a new playable character who has been leaked and talked about long before miHoYo even made official announcements.

The character in question is Kamisato Ayato, Yashiro Commissioner and head of the Kamisato Clan. He has not yet appeared in-game, but fans may recall that the leader of Inazuma’s Yashiro Commission has been mentioned a couple of times in the region’s story. 

After months of waiting, miHoYo finally announced that Ayato would become available as a new playable character in Version 2.6 and even released a character teaser, so fans could take their first look at the commissioner. 

In less than 24 hours since its release, the video has made almost 2 million views.

While Ayato’s gameplay has not been revealed in the character teaser, it highlighted his personality. It can be said that Ayato is hard-working as he said that, “When work is busy, I don’t return home for days at a time.” Moreover, while he mentioned that he is a clan head at home and commissioner in public, he added that he is ultimately “just a normal person” which hints that he is down-to-earth. 

The teaser also showed Ayato’s sister Ayaka and Thoma, talking about Ayato’s birthday. While its relevance is yet to be revealed, it is possible that this is related to his story quest upon release. 

With his looks and personality, Ayato has already made a huge good impression on the fandom even before his release, with some fans saying how “honorable” and “charming” he is.

With all that has been released about Ayato through leaks and official announcements, fans are definitely thrilled to know what he has to offer in the game. And the wait is almost over. 

Genshin Impact is available for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is currently in development.
