Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet begins on September 18, 2026, bringing special ANA-themed PokéStops, Gyms, Bulbasaur raids and Timed Research to participating airports across Japan. The collaboration celebrates the launch of the Green Pokémon Jet as part of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
The Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet event is unusually long, running from September 18, 2026, until August 31, 2027. One of the biggest reasons to take part is a special Bulbasaur encounter featuring a Green Pokémon Jet Location Background.
Bulbasaur encountered from the special raids can also potentially be Shiny.

How to Get Green Pokémon Jet Bulbasaur in Pokémon GO
The main collectible during Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet is Bulbasaur with a special Green Pokémon Jet Location Background.
Bulbasaur appears in special Raid Battles at newly installed Gyms at participating airports.
Defeating the raid gives Trainers the opportunity to catch Bulbasaur, and the resulting Bulbasaur encounter features the special Green Pokémon Jet–themed Location Background.
| Green Pokémon Jet Bulbasaur | Details |
|---|---|
| Pokémon | Bulbasaur |
| Encounter method | Special Raid Battles |
| Location Background | Yes |
| Shiny available | Yes |
| Location | Participating airports in Japan |
| Event ends | August 31, 2027 |
Trainers can participate in one of these special Raid Battles per day at each participating Gym.
Can Green Pokémon Jet Bulbasaur Be Shiny?
Yes. Bulbasaur encountered during Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet can potentially be Shiny.
A Shiny encounter is not guaranteed.
That means Trainers hunting the most collectible version will potentially be able to obtain a Shiny Bulbasaur with the Green Pokémon Jet Location Background from an eligible raid encounter.
The Location Background is tied to Bulbasaur obtained through these special airport Raid Battles.
Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet Participating Airports
Phase 2 of the ANA collaboration features 14 participating airports across Japan.
| Participating airport |
|---|
| Kochi Airport |
| Matsuyama Airport |
| Takamatsu Airport |
| Tokushima Airport |
| Fukuoka Airport |
| Saga Airport |
| Miyazaki Airport |
| Kumamoto Airport |
| Kagoshima Airport |
| Nagasaki Airport |
| Oita Airport |
| Ishigaki Airport |
| Miyako Airport |
| Naha Airport |
Trainers need to visit one of these eligible locations to access the Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet airport gameplay.
Green Pokémon Jet Timed Research
Special Timed Research is another part of Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet.
Visiting a participating Phase 2 airport allows Trainers to receive Timed Research that rewards encounters with event-themed Pokémon.
The complete tasks and encounter rewards have not yet been announced.
There is an important restriction: each Trainer can claim the Phase 2 Timed Research once, regardless of which participating Phase 2 airport they visit.
You therefore do not receive a separate copy of the research at all 14 airports.
How Long Does Green Pokémon Jet Timed Research Last?
The Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet Timed Research expires three days after it is received.
This is particularly important because the wider airport collaboration lasts until August 2027, but an individual Trainer does not receive that entire period to complete their research after claiming it.
Once the Timed Research has been activated at an eligible airport, its tasks and rewards need to be completed within the three-day window.
Trainers visiting Japan specifically for the event should therefore avoid claiming the research until they are ready to complete it.
Can You Get Green Pokémon Jet Research If You Did the Red Event?
Yes.
The ANA Pokémon GO airport collaboration is divided into phases.
Phase 1 accompanied the launch of the Red Pokémon Jet, while Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet is Phase 2.
Trainers who already received and completed the Phase 1 Timed Research are still eligible to receive the Phase 2 Timed Research when visiting one of the Green Pokémon Jet participating airports.
The restriction applies within each phase rather than across the entire ANA collaboration.
Green Pokémon Jet PokéStops and Gyms
Special ANA-themed PokéStops and Gyms are being placed at participating airports for Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet.
The special Gyms host the Bulbasaur Raid Battles that award the Green Pokémon Jet Location Background encounters.
This means simply being somewhere in Japan is not enough to access the main event gameplay. Trainers need to visit one of the participating airports.
The exact placement of the individual PokéStops and Gyms will depend on the airport.
Is Green Pokémon Jet Bulbasaur Exclusive to Japan?
The Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet collaboration is taking place at participating airports in Japan.
The special Green Pokémon Jet Location Background Bulbasaur is connected specifically to the airport Raid Battles announced as part of this Japanese ANA collaboration.
No worldwide method of obtaining the Green Pokémon Jet Location Background Bulbasaur has been announced.
For Location Background collectors, that makes the airport raid encounter the key part of the event.
What Is the Pokémon GO ANA Collaboration?
Pokémon GO and Japanese airline ANA are running a multi-phase collaboration connected to special Pokémon-themed aircraft created for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary.
The first phase celebrated the Red Pokémon Jet and featured Charmander with a special Red Pokémon Jet Location Background at participating airports.
The Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet collaboration is the second phase and switches the featured Pokémon to Bulbasaur.
A third phase will coincide with the Blue Pokémon Jet.
The participating airports and full gameplay details for Phase 3 have not yet been announced.
Will There Be a Blue Pokémon Jet Event?
Yes. A further Pokémon GO collaboration is planned to coincide with the launch of the Blue Pokémon Jet.
Pokémon has confirmed that the eligible airports will change again for Phase 3.
Trainers will also be able to receive another set of Timed Research during Phase 3, even if they participated in the Red and Green Pokémon Jet phases.
The featured Pokémon, participating airports and launch date for the Blue Pokémon Jet event have not yet been revealed.
Is Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet Worth Visiting?
For Trainers already travelling through one of the participating Japanese airports, the Pokémon GO Green Pokémon Jet collaboration has a particularly distinctive collector reward.
Bulbasaur with the Green Pokémon Jet Location Background is only announced through these airport Raid Battles, with the additional possibility of encountering it as a Shiny.
The Timed Research provides another airport-exclusive activity, while special ANA-themed PokéStops and Gyms give the participating locations their own Pokémon GO content.
Because the collaboration lasts until August 31, 2027, Trainers have considerably longer to take part than they would during a normal Pokémon GO event.
For collectors, the biggest targets are the Green Pokémon Jet Location Background Bulbasaur, its potential Shiny version and the limited Timed Research available at the 14 participating Phase 2 airports.
Mega-Evolved Pokémon are eligible. 4× Stardust from win rewards; this does not include end-of-set rewards.
