Knowing the Fortnite Temple Vault locations is useful because these hidden chambers contain valuable loot and, in some cases, access to the new in-game Cheat Code system introduced with Override.

Here is where every confirmed Temple Vault is located and how each one opens.

All Fortnite Temple Vault Locations

There are currently two confirmed Fortnite Temple Vault locations:

Temple VaultLocationKeys Needed
Stone Sanctum Temple VaultStone Sanctum2
Mega Maze Temple VaultMega Maze1

Both are located in the southern half of the Chapter 7 Season 4 map.

The puzzles are different, so knowing where the Fortnite Temple Vault locations are is only half the job. You also need to find the correct Temple Vault Keys for each one.

Stone Sanctum Temple Vault Location

The first of the Fortnite Temple Vault locations is found at Stone Sanctum.

The actual vault sits beneath the central area of the POI, hidden underneath the water surrounding the main statue.

You cannot simply walk into it.

First, you need to activate the two stone discs around the central area using Temple Vault Keys.

Once both discs are activated, the water drains and reveals the hidden level below.

How Many Keys Does the Stone Sanctum Temple Vault Need?

You need two Temple Vault Keys to open the Stone Sanctum vault.

There are two separate stone discs near the centre of the POI, and each requires one key.

One key will not open the vault.

Once both have been used, the water drains and exposes the entrance.

Where to Find Stone Sanctum Temple Vault Keys

This is where current launch-day guides disagree slightly.

Nintendo Life and some current guides describe Temple Vault Keys being found by breaking small stone pillars around the rooftops. Another set of fresh guides says the keys are hidden inside invisible pots on pedestals around the middle floor.

Because there is conflicting current reporting, the safest approach at Stone Sanctum is to check both the rooftop stone structures and the middle-floor pedestals if you are struggling to find the keys.

The important confirmed part is that you need two Temple Vault Keys and both must be used on the central stone discs.

What Is Inside the Stone Sanctum Temple Vault?

The Stone Sanctum vault contains valuable loot, including Chests.

Current guides also report in-game Cheat Code interactions inside the hidden chamber.

These are the directional Cheat Codes found during Battle Royale, not the Lobby Hack codes entered through the Admin Panel.

That makes Stone Sanctum one of the more useful Fortnite Temple Vault locations if you are also working on your Sprite collection.

Mega Maze Temple Vault Location

The second of the confirmed Fortnite Temple Vault locations is at Mega Maze.

Mega Maze is an unnamed location in the southern half of the Chapter 7 Season 4 map.

The vault itself is hidden behind a wall on the western side of the maze.

Unlike Stone Sanctum, you only need one Temple Vault Key to open it.

How to Get the Mega Maze Temple Vault Key

The Mega Maze Temple Vault Key is carried by an invisible moving container travelling through the maze.

The container leaves a visible trail behind it.

The easiest way to find it is to get above the maze walls and watch for that moving trail.

Follow it until you get close enough for the container to become visible, then destroy it and collect the Temple Vault Key.

How to Open the Mega Maze Temple Vault

Once you have the key:

  1. Head to the western side of Mega Maze.
  2. Find the stairs.
  3. Go up to the Temple Vault Key pedestal.
  4. Insert the key.
  5. The secret wall behind the pedestal opens.

That reveals the hidden vault chamber.

This makes Mega Maze the simpler of the two Fortnite Temple Vault locations once you have actually caught the moving key container.

Stone Sanctum vs Mega Maze Temple Vault

The two Fortnite Temple Vault locations use completely different puzzles.

Stone Sanctum requires two keys and opens by draining water beneath the central statue.

Mega Maze requires one key taken from a moving invisible container and opens a hidden wall on the western side of the maze.

So if you have learned one vault puzzle, do not assume the second one works the same way.

Do Temple Vault Keys Work at Every Vault?

Temple Vault Keys are tied to their specific vault puzzle.

Do not assume a key collected at Stone Sanctum can simply be carried across the map and used at Mega Maze.

The safest approach is to collect and use the keys at the same Temple Vault location where you find them.

Are There More Fortnite Temple Vault Locations?

Only Stone Sanctum and Mega Maze are currently documented as confirmed Fortnite Temple Vault locations.

More could be discovered as players continue exploring Chapter 7 Season 4, but there is no reason to list additional locations until they are properly verified.

If another Temple Vault is found, this page should be updated rather than creating a speculative location list.

Which Temple Vault Is Easier to Open?

Mega Maze requires fewer keys, but finding the moving invisible container can take a little time.

Stone Sanctum requires two keys and a larger puzzle, but the location itself is easier to identify because it is a named POI.

Which one feels easier will depend on whether you prefer searching for hidden objects or chasing a moving target around a maze.

Are Temple Vaults Worth Opening?

Yes.

The Fortnite Temple Vault locations give you access to hidden loot that is not available simply by walking into the POI normally.

Stone Sanctum is particularly useful because current guides report Cheat Code interactions inside the vault alongside its loot.

If you are already landing near one of the vaults, completing the puzzle can be worthwhile before rotating elsewhere.

Fortnite Temple Vault Locations Explained

The Fortnite Temple Vault locations currently confirmed in Chapter 7 Season 4 are Stone Sanctum and Mega Maze.

Stone Sanctum requires two Temple Vault Keys and opens when both central stone discs are activated, draining the water beneath the main statue.

Mega Maze requires one Temple Vault Key taken from a moving invisible container. Use that key on the western pedestal to open the hidden wall and enter the vault.

Those are the two confirmed Fortnite Temple Vault locations for now.
