Fortnite Golden Hours today takes place on Saturday, August 22 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with Gold Sprite variants becoming a major focus and Midas’ Masterpiece adding extra firepower during the event. Epic is calling this the first Power Hours event of the Override season.
If you are looking for Fortnite Golden Hours today, this is the event to watch if you are collecting Gold Sprites or trying to make progress with the new Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprite roster.
The event only runs for a limited two-hour window, so knowing when Fortnite Golden Hours today starts is especially important if you want to make the most of it.
What Time Is Fortnite Golden Hours Today?
Fortnite Golden Hours today runs from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, August 22.
Epic lists the Golden Hours event directly on its official Battle Royale page and describes it as the first Power Hours event of the Override season.
For UK players, the event begins at 6:00 PM BST.
The event lasts for two hours, so it is worth being online before it begins rather than trying to join near the end.
What Is Fortnite Golden Hours Today?
Fortnite Golden Hours today is a limited-time Power Hours event focused on Gold Sprite variants.
Epic says Gold Sprite variants have been hacked into the game for the event, giving players another opportunity to expand their Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprite collections.
Midas’ Masterpiece is also specifically mentioned as bringing additional firepower during Golden Hours.
That makes the event relevant for both Sprite collectors and players interested in the Midas-themed weapon content.
What Happens During Fortnite Golden Hours Today?
The main confirmed features of Fortnite Golden Hours today are:
- Gold Sprite variants
- New Sprites to add to your roster
- Midas’ Masterpiece appearing as part of the event
- A two-hour Power Hours window
Epic has not published a much longer rules list for the event, so there is no reason to invent additional bonuses that are not confirmed.
The focus is clearly on Gold Sprites and the special Golden Hours gameplay window.
Are Gold Sprites Available During Fortnite Golden Hours Today?
Yes.
Gold Sprite variants are the central attraction of Fortnite Golden Hours today.
Epic specifically says that Gold Sprite variants have been hacked in for the first Power Hours event of the Override season.
That means players trying to complete the new Chapter 7 Season 4 Sprite collection should prioritise the event window.
How Many Gold Sprites Are There?
Current coverage reports 11 Gold Sprite variants available in Chapter 7 Season 4. Vice published a complete list after the variants appeared in the live game.
That gives collectors a substantial number of Gold variants to work toward rather than the event revolving around only one or two special Sprites.
We will cover the complete Gold Sprite list separately so this page remains focused on Fortnite Golden Hours today.
Is Gold Klombo Available During Golden Hours?
Gold Klombo is one of the most interesting Gold Sprite variants connected to the new Override collection.
Because Klombo is already one of the rarest Sprites in Chapter 7 Season 4, its Gold version is likely to become one of the most desirable finds during Golden Hours.
We are covering Gold Klombo separately because its rarity and unlock details deserve their own guide rather than being buried inside the broader event article.
Is Gold Crown Sprite Available During Golden Hours?
Gold Crown Sprite is also part of the Gold Sprite conversation around the event.
Crown Sprite already has unusual unlock and progression requirements, so the Gold variant is likely to be one of the more sought-after Sprites during Fortnite Golden Hours today.
Again, the exact Gold Crown method deserves its own article.
What Is Midas’ Masterpiece During Golden Hours?
Epic specifically mentions Midas’ Masterpiece as part of Fortnite Golden Hours today, saying it brings extra firepower during the event.
That means Golden Hours is not only about collecting Gold Sprites.
Midas-themed weapon content also plays a role during the limited event window.
If you are less interested in Sprite collecting, there is still a reason to jump into Battle Royale during the two-hour period.
Do You Need to Activate Golden Hours?
No separate activation requirement has been announced by Epic.
Fortnite Golden Hours today is presented as a scheduled Battle Royale event rather than something individual players need to switch on manually.
The important requirement is being in Fortnite during the event window.
How Long Does Fortnite Golden Hours Today Last?
Fortnite Golden Hours today lasts for two hours.
The scheduled window is:
6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, August 22.
That is a relatively short period compared with full weekend events, so players specifically hunting Gold Sprites should plan around that window.
Is Golden Hours a One-Time Event?
Epic describes this as the first Power Hours of the Override season, which strongly suggests this is part of a recurring event format rather than the only Power Hours event Chapter 7 Season 4 will receive.
However, the exact schedule for every future Power Hours event has not been fully detailed yet.
For now, the confirmed event is Fortnite Golden Hours today.
Should You Play Fortnite Golden Hours Today?
If you are collecting Sprites, absolutely.
Fortnite Golden Hours today gives you a limited window focused on Gold Sprite variants, which are likely to be some of the more desirable additions to a complete Sprite collection.
Even if your main goal is not Sprites, Midas’ Masterpiece gives the event another gameplay hook.
Because the event lasts only two hours, there is little reason to leave it until the final few minutes if you intend to participate.
