Fortnite Lil SMG is Lil Uzi Vert’s new boss weapon in Treasure Hunters. It arrives with Captain’s Day on November 8 and has two useful effects: its fire rate builds as you keep shooting, and it gives you a movement-speed boost. To go after it, head to Lil Uzi’s Stronghold at Fortune’s Fort in the northeast of Crossbones Isle.
The reason we’re interested in this gun isn’t just that it’s new. An SMG that speeds up while firing could make close-range fights interesting, particularly in Zero Build where changing position matters. Before you charge the fort, here’s how to get the weapon, what its special effects mean and whether you really need it for the Week 2 challenge.
How to get the Fortnite Lil SMG in Treasure Hunters
Lil Uzi Vert is the new boss at Fortune’s Fort, east of Loot Lagoon. Epic’s promotional map calls the area Lil Uzi’s Stronghold. The encounter began at 9 AM ET / 2 PM GMT on Sunday, November 8, and Epic names the Fortnite Lil SMG as one of the rewards you can challenge the boss for.
We’d land nearby, grab a weapon and shields, and head into the fort once properly equipped. There are likely to be other people chasing the same boss and his loot. The Fortnite Lil SMG comes from the new boss encounter according to Epic, but it hasn’t published a guaranteed drop count or confirmed that the weapon is in ordinary Chests and floor loot. Don’t plan a route around an unproven spawn.

What makes Lil Uzi Vert’s Lil’ SMG different?
The best bit is the fire-rate ramp. Hold down the trigger and Lil Uzi Vert’s Lil’ SMG shoots faster as you keep firing. You don’t get that rising rate of fire from a standard fixed-rate SMG. It’s a reason to stay on target, especially at the closer ranges where an SMG is most comfortable.
There’s a second perk too: movement speed. Epic confirms the boost, but doesn’t give a percentage, timer or a precise activation condition. It’s worth watching the weapon’s in-game behaviour rather than trusting a made-up ‘20% faster’ claim. The Fortnite Lil SMG is a weapon with two effects, not proof of a particular damage-per-second figure.

Best way to use the Fortnite Lil SMG
Think of the rising rate of fire as a reward for keeping shots on target. Start the fight from cover, track the opponent and hold your aim steady. If you’re spraying past someone who has moved behind a wall, the faster fire rate isn’t helping; you’ve just got less ammunition for the next exchange. The Fortnite Lil SMG won’t rescue a bad engagement on its own.
The movement boost could help you reposition when the fight turns messy. We wouldn’t use it as a substitute for cover, though. If you need to reload or reset your aim, do it somewhere safe instead of chasing somebody across open ground simply because you’ve got the new weapon.
Fortnite Lil SMG damage, ammo and rarity
There isn’t a reliable official stat table in the November 8 announcement. Epic hasn’t given exact damage, magazine size, reload time, recoil or fire-rate multiplier for the Fortnite Lil SMG. Those should be checked from the current item tooltip before publishing numbers. The weapon’s confirmed strength is its ramping rate of fire and movement boost.
If you haven’t claimed Lil Uzi’s weapon, the ordinary Machine SMG and Tactical SMG are still in the Treasure Hunters loot pool. They can also complete the same Week 2 hit challenge. A normal SMG may be the better choice if the only other option is spending an entire match fighting for the boss weapon.
Does the 75-hit Week 2 quest require the Lil SMG?
No. The challenge is to hit opponents 75 times with Lil Uzi Vert’s Lil’ SMG or other SMGs. That last part is important. Any qualifying SMG counts, so you can work on the objective away from Fortune’s Fort while someone else fights Lil Uzi.
It counts hits, not damage. One hit that deals 25 damage is still one hit towards the total. If you do manage to get the Fortnite Lil SMG, use it for the quest, but don’t assume it’s required. The Week 2 quests guide covers all seven challenges, including the 500 high-ground damage and Legendary weapon objectives.
Is the Lil SMG in Zero Build and Ranked?
Epic announced the Fortnite Lil SMG for Battle Royale with the Stronghold boss. Its post doesn’t give a separate list of Ranked, Reload or tournament loot pools. Don’t treat an unverified screenshot from one playlist as proof that it drops in every mode.
If you’re specifically trying to collect the weapon, start with the current Battle Royale Stronghold encounter. For Ranked and competitive play, check that mode’s live item list or Compete rules. We haven’t confirmed the Lil’ SMG as an all-playlists drop.
When does the Fortnite Lil SMG leave Fortnite?
Captain’s Day began on November 8 at 9 AM ET / 2 PM GMT. That’s 6 AM PST, 3 PM CET, 7:30 PM IST and 11 PM JST, or 1 AM AEDT on November 9 in Sydney. Epic’s 24-hour bonus is for Lil Uzi Vert Jr. Sprite variant drop rates, ending at 2 PM GMT on November 9. It isn’t a confirmed time for the Fortnite Lil SMG to be vaulted.
Lil Uzi’s Outfit arrives separately in the Item Shop on November 12. You don’t need to buy it to fight the boss or use the Fortnite Lil SMG. For the companion and its boosted variants, see our Lil Uzi Vert Jr. Sprite guide.
