Apex Legends Wildcard Cards are offered at the beginning of rounds 1, 2 and 3 in Wildcard. You’ll find the choices at the top of your HUD. Respawn also removed Replicators from this mode in the November 3 Cipher update.
If you’ve been searching for a crafting station, that’s why you can’t find one. Cards haven’t disappeared. The way you receive them has changed. This applies to Wildcard, not normal Battle Royale or Ranked.
How do Apex Legends Wildcard Cards work?

When rounds 1, 2 and 3 start, a selection of Wild Cards appears along the top of the screen. You make a choice there rather than visiting a Replicator. Respawn tested this system during the Ascended Hunt event before making it permanent.
EA confirms the round numbers and HUD placement. It doesn’t provide an updated list of every card and its effect, so read the choices offered in your match rather than following an old tier list.
Apex Legends Wildcard Cards: Rounds 1, 2 and 3
There are selections in round 1, round 2 and round 3. This is a round-by-round system, not a single permanent pick made before you start the match. Your available choices are shown in-game as the relevant stage arrives.
| Round | What to check |
|---|---|
| Round 1 | Look for the first card selection at the top of the HUD. |
| Round 2 | Review the next choices against the weapons and equipment you’re now carrying. |
| Round 3 | Check the later-round selection before committing to your final approach. |
There is no need to time a round yourself. The selection comes at the beginning of each of the first three rounds, and the HUD displays the available options.
How to choose the best Wildcard Card for your match
Pick based on your current weapons, how your squad is playing and what would help in the next fight. A defensive option might matter more if your team has been struggling to survive; an offensive effect might suit a confident close-range squad. These are ways to judge choices, not a promise that specific named cards will appear.
Check the descriptions in your current game. Apex Legends Wildcard Cards have changed with Cipher, and EA hasn’t supplied a full new card catalogue in the patch notes.
Why are Replicators gone from Wildcard?
Respawn removed Replicators from the Wildcard playlist. That isn’t a bug or a temporary missing map object; it’s part of the new card-delivery system.
The patch does not say that Replicators were removed from every Apex Legends mode. Wildcard has its own rules, so don’t assume the same change affects public Battle Royale and Ranked.
Can you still craft items in normal Apex Legends matches?
The full Cipher notes specifically identify Wildcard when announcing the Replicator removal. That’s why the change should not be presented as a universal end to crafting. If you play multiple modes, check the match type before assuming the Replicator rules are the same.
For Wildcard, plan your next fight around the equipment and Apex Legends Wildcard Cards the mode actually provides. You’ll no longer be able to rely on a Replicator appearing as it did previously. The card system is an additional set of in-match decisions, not confirmation that every old crafting function has moved into a card.
What if Apex Legends Wildcard Cards are not showing?
First, make sure you’ve selected Wildcard and not a standard Battle Royale or Ranked queue. Then check the top of your HUD as the rounds advance. Card selection is tied to rounds 1, 2 and 3, so don’t expect the same choice menu to remain on screen throughout the entire match.
If you have changed your HUD settings, review the relevant display area rather than hunting for a Replicator to trigger a selection. If a round has progressed but no card prompt appears, check for a new client update and try another match. Respawn’s notes establish the intended HUD location, but do not publish a specific repair procedure for every missing-card report.
Are Apex Legends Wildcard Cards the same as Legend upgrades?
No. The Apex Legends Wildcard Cards selections are part of the Wildcard mode. Legend upgrades, character abilities and changes such as Crypto’s Season 31 drone rework are separate systems. Choosing a Wildcard Card does not mean you’re permanently upgrading your Legend across other game modes.
The card descriptions in your live match are the reliable way to see the options currently available. EA’s announcement describes the delivery system, not every upgrade you can choose.
What else changed with Cipher?
Season 31 also introduced Crypto’s rework, Strongholds and the Akimbo Wingman, plus Ranked changes. Separately, Wildcard uses District Wildcard and Broken Moon Wildcard from November 3 to 9. EA has scheduled Olympus Wildcard to join those maps from December 1, 2026 to January 5, 2027.
The key change is simple: watch the top of your screen at the start of the first three rounds. You no longer need a crafting station to receive Wild Cards in this mode. For the wider Cipher changes, the related guides are below.
