Apex Legends Lifeline Season 31 buffs launch on 3 November 2026. Lifeline can heal while gliding with D.O.C., her Tactical becomes available faster and her new Level 3 upgrades include Revive Shield or a 60-second Ultimate cooldown reduction. These changes are part of the Cipher season.
Respawn is focusing on Lifeline’s ability to keep a squad alive in difficult fights. Some old cooldown improvements move into her base kit, leaving room for upgrades that offer more meaningful choices. Here are the confirmed healing, movement and revival changes.
Apex Legends Lifeline Season 31: D.O.C. healing while gliding

Lifeline now receives D.O.C. Tactical healing while gliding. Respawn explains that she already carries D.O.C. during the movement, so the rework lets her benefit from its healing instead of separating the two actions.
You can now reposition while recovering health instead of treating gliding and D.O.C. healing as separate actions. It doesn’t mean the character has unlimited healing or becomes protected from incoming fire. Position and timing still matter while escaping a fight or moving to a teammate.
Apex Legends Lifeline Season 31 Tactical cooldown change
The old Tactical Cooldown upgrade reduced Lifeline’s Tactical cooldown by 10 seconds. That reduction is now part of her base kit, so every Lifeline gains quicker access to D.O.C. without first picking that upgrade.
The change helps teams who need repeated healing across engagements. Lifeline no longer has to choose the old cooldown option to make the drone more available, and that creates room for new support upgrades. The Apex Legends Lifeline Season 31 adjustments are designed to bring her back into consideration at higher Ranked levels.
How Lifeline’s new Revive Shield works

Revive Shield is a new Level 3 upgrade. It creates a shield around a player being revived by Lifeline, bringing back a form of protection associated with her earlier abilities. That cover is useful when you need to revive somebody and another squad still has an angle on the position.
For Apex Legends Lifeline Season 31, Revive Shield is an optional upgrade, not a permanent feature available from the beginning of every match. You must select it at the correct upgrade stage, and it competes with another new Level 3 choice.
Ultimate Cooldown: 60 seconds faster
The alternative Level 3 upgrade cuts Lifeline’s Ultimate cooldown by 60 seconds. Choosing it means you can use the Ultimate more frequently, instead of receiving the shield protection while reviving a teammate.
The decision depends on the needs of your team. If you expect difficult revives under fire, Revive Shield has immediate appeal. If your squad gets more value from repeated Ultimates during a long match, the cooldown option deserves attention. Neither choice changes D.O.C.’s new base gliding heal.
Improved Gliding, Enhanced Radio and BattPack
Improved Gliding gets better handling alongside its increased duration. Respawn is removing BattPack, the extra-battery-slot upgrade, and replacing it with Enhanced Radio. Enhanced Radio increases assignment distance and moves from its former Level 3 position into an earlier upgrade choice.
These revisions make more space for the new Level 3 support decisions. The Apex Legends Lifeline Season 31 changes therefore affect both the way she plays moment to moment and which upgrades are available as she progresses through a match.
What the changes mean for Lifeline players
Lifeline remains a support character who excels at recovering teammates and helping the squad survive extended fights. The new kit rewards good timing: glide when healing and repositioning make sense, keep D.O.C. available for teammates, and choose the Level 3 option that best addresses the problems your squad is facing.
Respawn said Lifeline’s popularity has dropped markedly at higher Ranked levels, which prompted these improvements. The Apex Legends Lifeline Season 31 buffs give players extra ways to keep teammates in the fight without changing her role as a support Legend. A defensive revive option and a faster Ultimate support different styles of squad play.
