When is the Fortnite Cursed Sprites release date?
Epic’s v43.00 announcement gives November 7 as the date. It doesn’t provide a specific release hour for Cursed Sprites, so the 9 AM ET / 2 PM GMT launch time from November 1 shouldn’t be copied into a countdown for Saturday.
Fortune Sprites have been available since the season’s opening, but Cursed forms are part of the November 7 update. That distinction matters if you’re trying to finish a collection before the next content drop.
What do Cursed Sprites do?
Cursed Sprites raise your chance of finding rare Sprite variants. Epic doesn’t say how large that increase is, which rarities qualify or whether any bonus stacks. You cannot turn that description into a reliable drop-rate percentage or a guaranteed reward after a certain number of Chests.
The drawback is straightforward: water damages you when the Cursed effect is active. That’s more than a visual change to your companion, and it’s something to consider on an island with rivers, beaches and water routes.

A shortcut across a river may be perfectly safe with an ordinary Sprite but cost health with Cursed equipped. Plan a route over a bridge or use dry land if your next fight is likely to begin near the shoreline.
Kelper restores health while you’re in water, and Barry O’Fish saves stamina while sprinting through it. Neither description proves a Cursed version would be safe in water. Epic hasn’t published the figures needed to compare healing against damage.

Fortune Sprites reveal nearby Chests. Cursed Sprites instead improve your chances of finding rare variants while adding water damage. These are different bonuses: one helps you locate loot, while the other targets the collection hunt.

When are Gold Sprites available?
Epic dates Gold Sprites for Thursday, November 12, five days after Cursed. Gold gives bonus XP when you eliminate opponents. That is a separate benefit and should not be confused with Cursed’s rare-variant chance or Fortune’s Chest finding.
Gold and Cursed have different release dates, so don’t assume that seeing a variant in the menu means it is currently obtainable.
Collecting Cursed Sprites after November 7
The regular Treasure Hunters route begins with a Wanted Poster. Tear it down to reveal a Sprite Treasure Map, follow the marked place, dig out the buried Sprite Chest and open it. That’s how the season’s collection hunt works.
Epic hasn’t given a complete Cursed drop table or confirmed which of those Chests can award every variant on November 7. The Fortnite Cursed Sprites release date is confirmed, but the precise variant locations still need evidence from matches after launch.

How many Cursed Sprites can you find?
Epic hasn’t confirmed an exact number of Cursed Sprites obtainable on launch day. Some community trackers show portraits or names that appear in files, but those are not proof that every version can already drop.
Epic promises new Sprites with Lil Uzi, but has not named Lil’ Uzi Vert Jr. or described that reported companion’s ability in the public notes. Until it appears in official information or gameplay, treat the name and effect as unconfirmed.
Should you use a Cursed Sprite?
Cursed could be useful if your goal is collecting rare variants. For a route with repeated swims, a Fortune Sprite may be the less risky option, since its announced Chest-revealing power doesn’t include Cursed’s water penalty.
