It was reported shortly after AEW began airing their weekly Dynamite TV show that the company would be entering the video game world with their own AEW game, overseen by Kenny Omega and Aubrey Edwards and being developed by the legendary Yuke’s, the studio behind the classic Smackdown vs Raw games.

Fightful Select has reported that Yuke’s is working on a story mode for the upcoming AEW game, but that many wrestlers have reported that they haven’t had anything to do with the game, casting doubt as to who might be on the roster.

“There’s a story mode, which we’re told is being worked on to include some input from certain wrestlers themselves. In addition, we’ve heard that several of the Yuke’s team that helped create fondly remembered Smackdown vs. Raw games are a part of this process as well.

There are several wrestlers that we’ve heard from that haven’t had anything to do with the video game thus far and aren’t sure if they’ll be included or involved. Others have taken reference photos, but haven’t done voice overs.”

With AEW having a vast roster it would be fair to assume that the company would be looking to put as many stars as possible in the game to compete with the huge roster that WWE games typically have, WWE 2K22 has over 120 Superstars in it.

Many wrestling game fans will remember the TNA Impact video game roster and that it only had 31 wrestlers included and some of those were DLC.

As of right now, we know that wrestlers such as Chris Jericho, Darby Allin, Kenny Omega, and Jungle Boy are included, and it is very likely that stars such as Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, and MJF will be included, but when it comes to the lesser featured stars only time will tell.
