The Warframe Tau Prologue Requirements are simple but strict: you must complete The Hex and The Old Peace. Once both quests are finished, the Tau Prologue Series should appear in your Codex when you log in on the current October 15 build.
Vor’s Prize, Eris access, Moonflesh and Epoch Operation: Taubound are separate. Vor’s Prize is enough to join the limited Taubound event, but it does not replace either Main Story prerequisite for the permanent Tau Prologue.
Warframe Tau Prologue Requirements

| Requirement | Needed? |
|---|---|
| Complete The Hex | Yes |
| Complete The Old Peace | Yes |
| Complete Vor’s Prize | Not as the Tau Prologue gate; this is the Taubound event requirement |
| Unlock Eris normally | No |
| Collect Moonflesh | No |
| Finish Epoch Operation: Taubound | No |
Digital Extremes states that players who have completed both The Hex and The Old Peace will see the Tau Prologue Series in their Codex upon login. There is no Moonflesh amount or Taubound community-progress percentage attached to that unlock.
Do you need The Hex for the Tau Prologue?

Yes. The Hex is one of the two required quests. If The Old Peace is already finished but The Hex is still incomplete on your account, the Warframe Tau Prologue Requirements have not been met yet.
Finish The Hex first, then check The Old Peace. The Codex unlock is based on both quests being complete rather than simply having started them.
Do you need The Old Peace?

Yes. The Old Peace is the other required quest. Completing The Hex alone is not enough to make the Tau Prologue Series appear.
Once both are marked complete, log in on the current build and check the Codex. Digital Extremes says eligible players should see the new Prologue Series there.
Do you need Vor’s Prize or normal Eris access?
Vor’s Prize is relevant to Epoch Operation: Taubound, not the Warframe Tau Prologue Requirements. Completing Vor’s Prize lets eligible Tenno use the temporary Eris access provided by the Operation to farm Moonflesh.
That event access does not unlock the Tau Prologue by itself. A newer account can participate in Taubound while still being too early in the Main Story to have completed The Hex and The Old Peace.
Do you need to complete Taubound first?
No. The permanent Prologue and the one-time Operation are narratively connected but mechanically separate. You can complete the Tau Prologue without finishing Taubound, and you can farm Taubound without meeting the Prologue requirements.
Moonflesh, Praghasa’s shop and the community progress meter have no role in the Codex requirement for the Tau Prologue Series.
Tau Prologue still locked after completing both quests
Check that The Hex and The Old Peace both show as completed in the Codex, then make sure the October 15 update is installed. If you were already logged in when the update arrived, relog before checking the Codex again.
If both quest completions are recorded and the game is current, the Warframe Tau Prologue Requirements are satisfied according to Digital Extremes’ live hotfix notes. Taubound participation is not an extra hidden gate.
Does the Tau Prologue expire?
No. The Tau Prologue Series is a permanent, replayable Main Story addition. The November 17 deadline belongs to Epoch Operation: Taubound, so you can finish The Hex and The Old Peace later and still unlock the Prologue.
