Rocket League Double Down Rewards: How to Get Light Speed Trail and Boost

Rocket League Double Down Rewards include the free Light Speed Trail and Light Speed Boost, both unlocked by playing Competitive 2v2 Doubles before 26 October 2026. The Trail requires ten completed matches, while the Boost requires thirteen goals. These two cosmetics are also listed among Fortnite’s current cross-game freebies.

Neither reward asks you to buy a Rocket Pass. However, the playlist is important: playing Casual Doubles or another mode with two players per team isn’t necessarily enough. Here’s how to claim both Light Speed rewards and what to check if your event progress isn’t moving.

All Rocket League Double Down Rewards and requirements

The two Rocket League Double Down Rewards have different objectives. Both use the standard Competitive Doubles playlist, so you can earn the match and goal progress in the same games.

Free rewardRequirement
Light Speed TrailPlay 10 Competitive 2v2 Doubles matches
Light Speed BoostScore 13 goals in Competitive 2v2 Doubles matches

Check the Double Down challenges on the Rocket League event screen after each match. Completing ten games alone doesn’t automatically award the Boost if you’re still short of thirteen goals.

How to unlock the Light Speed Trail

To unlock the first of the Rocket League Double Down Rewards, open the Play menu in Rocket League, select Competitive, then queue for 2v2 Doubles. Finish ten eligible matches. You can play with a regular teammate or queue solo, and the challenge doesn’t say you have to win every game.

If Competitive is still locked on a new account, finish the introductory requirements shown by Rocket League first. Once you’ve unlocked the playlist, complete your matches and check whether the event counter increased. Leaving games before they finish is best avoided.

How to unlock the Light Speed Boost

The Boost is the more demanding of the two Rocket League Double Down Rewards. You must score a total of 13 goals in Competitive 2v2 Doubles. These goals accumulate across eligible matches, so there’s no requirement to score thirteen in a single game.

Use standard Competitive Doubles. A goal in Casual Doubles, Competitive 3v3 or a special 2v2 mode may not count. If your tenth game finishes before you reach the goal target, you can continue playing the eligible playlist until your total reaches thirteen.

When does Rocket League Double Down end?

The event listing gives 26 October 2026 at 16:00 UTC as the deadline for the Rocket League Double Down Rewards. In the UK, that’s 4 PM GMT because British Summer Time ends the previous day. If you plan to finish both challenges, check the live Double Down timer in Rocket League rather than relying solely on the date.

Once the event closes, the challenge route may disappear. That’s particularly relevant for the Boost, because thirteen goals can take several matches if you’re not usually the main scorer in your team.

Do the Double Down rewards appear in Fortnite?

The Light Speed Trail and Boost appear on free Fortnite cosmetic trackers as cross-game vehicle rewards. To receive eligible shared cosmetics, make sure Rocket League and Fortnite are using the same Epic Games account. A reward earned on one Epic account can’t simply be moved to another account’s Locker.

These are vehicle items, not character Outfits. Claim the challenge reward in Rocket League if a claim action appears, then check the vehicle customisation options in Fortnite. Not every Rocket League item supports Fortnite, so check the game’s compatibility information rather than assuming every event reward transfers.

Why aren’t your Double Down challenges counting?

The first thing to check is the playlist. The Rocket League Double Down Rewards explicitly require Competitive 2v2 Doubles for the Trail and Boost objectives. A casual match doesn’t satisfy that wording even if you score several goals.

Next, open the event challenge page and compare the counters separately. Match completions and goals are tracked as different objectives. If the right mode isn’t being counted after a finished match, restart the game and check again before spending more time on another queue.

Finally, make sure you’re playing online and not using a private exhibition match. If the event displays progress but a claimed item doesn’t appear, look in the correct Trail or Boost inventory category before contacting Rocket League support.

More free Fortnite cosmetics to claim

Our free Fortnite cosmetics tracker groups current freebies by deadline and claim route. You’ll find Halloween quests, account-linked Outfits and other rewards that can be earned without paying for a bundle.

The Rocket League Double Down Rewards have a fixed closing window, unlike some permanent account-link bonuses. Prioritise the ten Competitive matches first, then continue scoring if the Boost’s thirteen-goal challenge is still unfinished.
