Pokémon GO Horizons Research Code is worth sorting out before the current celebration disappears, especially because the free Timed Research is easy to miss if you only play through the app. The code is 0004POKEMONGO, and redeeming it through the Pokémon GO Web Store adds a short event research line to your account.
The nice part is that there is no complicated unlock process. The important part is the clock: the Horizons celebration ends on September 22 at 8:00 p.m. local time, and the Timed Research must be completed and claimed before it expires. Below, we have the code, the redemption steps and the deadline in one place.
How to redeem the Pokémon GO Horizons Research Code

- Open the Pokémon GO Web Store in a browser.
- Choose the Offer Redemption page and sign in with the login method linked to the same Pokémon GO account you play on.
- Enter 0004POKEMONGO exactly as shown.
- Confirm the redemption, then reopen Pokémon GO if the research does not appear immediately.
- Open the Events or Research area and complete the Timed Research before September 22 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
The Pokémon GO Horizons Research Code is an offer code, so you do not need to buy a ticket or make a Web Store purchase to use it. Pokémon GO moved offer-code redemption to the web, which means typing the code into the normal in-game shop is not the correct route.
What does the Pokémon GO Horizons Research Code give you?
Pokémon GO has confirmed that the Pokémon GO Horizons Research Code unlocks event-themed Timed Research with an encounter with Charmander wearing Friede’s goggles, Poké Balls and more rewards. The official event announcement does not publish the complete task-by-task reward table, so there is no reason to invent one before every live step has been verified.
The costumed Charmander can evolve. It takes 25 Charmander Candy to evolve into Charmeleon wearing Friede’s goggles, then 100 more Candy to evolve that Charmeleon into Charizard wearing Friede’s goggles. The event also allows Shiny versions of the costumed family to be encountered where eligible.
When does the Pokémon GO Horizons Research Code expire?
The safest deadline for the Pokémon GO Horizons Research Code is the event end on Tuesday, September 22 at 8:00 p.m. local time. More importantly, Pokémon GO explicitly states that the tasks and rewards attached to the Timed Research expire at that time. Do not redeem the code and then leave the research sitting unfinished.
That deadline is separate from the event GO Pass reward-claim window. GO Pass rewards remain claimable until Thursday, September 24 at 8:00 p.m. local time, but the Pokémon GO Horizons Research Code Timed Research has the earlier September 22 deadline.
Why is the Pokémon GO Horizons Research Code not working?
If the Pokémon GO Horizons Research Code is rejected, first check the exact characters. The code begins with four zeros, not the letter O: 0004POKEMONGO. Copying it directly avoids the most obvious mistake.
- Confirm you are signed into the Web Store with the same account used in Pokémon GO.
- Use the Web Store Offer Redemption page rather than the in-game shop.
- Check that the code has not already been redeemed on that account.
- Close and reopen Pokémon GO if redemption succeeds but the research does not appear immediately.
- If you use only a Pokémon Trainer Club login, make sure the account has another supported login provider linked where required for Web Store access.
The Pokémon GO Horizons Research Code comes directly from the current Pokémon Horizons event announcement, so a random third-party code generator or a list of old codes is unnecessary. If the Web Store confirms success, the next thing to check is the game itself and the event research area.
What else ends with the Pokémon GO Horizons Research Code event?
The broader Pokémon Horizons Celebration also ends September 22 at 8:00 p.m. local time. Charmander wearing Friede’s goggles, rotating day and night spawns, themed raids, Kecleon bonuses and the event GO Pass are all tied to that event window.
