Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend is a long-term goal in the PSX Classic event introduced with Pet Simulator 99 Update 99. BIG Games says the title requires you to reach Heaven’s Gate and play for 72 hours, giving players a reason to revisit the original-style Pet Simulator X map.
The route begins in Town, continues through Spawn and the Fantasy Portals, and eventually leads to Heaven’s Gate. Along the way, you can earn area rewards for your regular PS99 account, fill the Classic Index and collect Season Pass tokens. Here’s what matters if the Legend milestone is your priority.
Our PSX Classic Portal guide covers the starting point, and the Update 99 overview explains the other prizes available as you progress.
How to unlock Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend
To become a Classic Legend, BIG Games says you must both reach Heaven’s Gate and play for 72 hours. The location requirement and time requirement work together. Being first to a portal or getting an impressive speedrun time is not the same thing. Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend is intended as a longer journey through the original-style map, so begin by opening areas before worrying about the total time.
Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend: Where to find Heaven’s Gate
Start by entering PSX Classic through the portal behind the eggs in Pet Simulator 99, or choose Join Event from the sidebar. Everyone begins fresh in Town. Progress through the Spawn world by earning coins and unlocking the next biomes, then access the Fantasy Portals. From there, continue through the islands towards Heaven’s Gate, the final destination named in the event announcement. Although returning PSX players may recognise the layout, their normal PS99 progress does not immediately unlock the route.

Our Update 99 overview explains how the other Classic rewards fit together.
Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend: Reaching Heaven’s Gate faster
Keep your pet team improving as the next area becomes more expensive. Hatch stronger pets from the eggs available to you, farm coins in the strongest accessible areas, and return to the next unlock when you have enough. Avoid spending all your time at the opening eggs simply because a rare hatch is possible there. The last Empyrean Egg is also one of the best places for players chasing Huge Tiger, so progressing serves both the Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend goal and late-game pet collecting.
Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend: What counts towards 72 hours?
The developer’s requirement is to ‘play 72 hours’. The announcement does not explain whether those hours must be continuous, whether the counter only counts time in Classic, or how idle time is treated. Check any progress tracker shown in your own game and base your plan on actual gameplay. There is no official evidence here for an AFK shortcut. That means Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend is best approached as an event goal you build towards while unlocking areas and participating in other activities.
Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend and chest rewards
Heaven’s Gate is more than a destination: it’s near the top of the original-style climb, where players can break the Grand Heaven Chest for a chance at Huge Agony. That rare drop is associated with the chest, not listed by BIG Games as a guaranteed reward for becoming a Classic Legend. The Empyrean Egg offers a chance at Huge Tiger, while any Classic egg has a chance of Huge Dalmatian. Those are other reasons to keep playing after reaching the final area.
Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend: Collecting area rewards
PSX Classic has 18 area rewards, ranging from Keys to Diamonds, and they’re delivered to your regular PS99 account when you press Home and arrive back. The first trip home adds 100,000 Diamonds and 10 Mini Chests. You can therefore make meaningful progress without remaining in the event world for the entire session. Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend is a separate milestone from these area payments, so track your unlocks and return home when you want to claim what you’ve earned.

Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend versus the speedrun board
The speedrun leaderboard records the fastest journey from Spawn to Heaven’s Gate and displays your best time on the board at Spawn. BIG Games explicitly says there are no prizes for that leaderboard. You may enjoy racing friends, but a speedy run doesn’t replace the 72-hour requirement for Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend. Also keep it separate from the PSX Classic hatching leaderboard, which does offer Gargantuan Angelus, Titanic Glitched Phoenix and Huge Reaper rewards based on competitive placements.
Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend: How to use those 72 hours
Use your play sessions to fill the Classic Index with newly obtained pets, including its own row for Classic Huges. Every new Index pet scores towards the Fantasy Clan Battle, with achievements and Huge hatches providing other points. Eggs, chests and new areas also grant Season Pass tokens, and Tier 4 includes the free Huge Froggy. These activities make time in PSX Classic useful beyond the Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend requirement. Returning home with a Classic Huge also delivers its Classic Twin to PS99.
The main game’s Abominable Yeti has its own rare-drop chase.
Why your Classic Legend challenge may seem unfinished
Reaching Heaven’s Gate satisfies only the first condition in BIG Games’ description. If Pet Simulator 99 Classic Legend hasn’t appeared yet, review how much qualifying playtime you’ve accumulated before treating it as a bug. If you have logged plenty of time but the game still has not awarded the milestone, inspect the in-game requirement and check whether the achievement has a separate claim step. The published announcement gives the two requirements, but does not document a particular claim button or a guaranteed reward pet, so there is no established manual fix to recommend.
If you’re alternating between worlds, Diamond Mountain, its Expeditions, Secret Trails, the Yeti leaderboard and Update 98 cover the other live activities.
