Palworld new Pals have arrived as part of the enormous 1.0 update, with 72 creatures, elemental variants and bosses added to the Palpedia. The expansion does not simply place every new Pal in one late-game area either. Some can be encountered near the beginning of a new adventure, while others are hidden across Sunreach, the World Tree and several previously released islands.
This is the biggest single expansion of the Pal roster so far. Alongside completely original species, Palworld 1.0 introduces variants such as Tanzee Ignis, Rayhound Cryst, Snock Lux and Petallia Ignis. These variants can have different elemental types, Partner Skills and potential roles compared with the original Pal.
Below is the complete list of all 72 Palworld new Pals, followed by a breakdown of the regions where they can be found.
How Many Palworld New Pals Are There?
There are 72 Palworld new Pals in the 1.0 update.
That total includes:
- Completely new Pal species
- New elemental variants of existing Pals
- Regular wild encounters
- Alpha and boss Pals
- Panthalus, which must be captured during progression
- Astralym, which appears in the Palpedia but cannot currently be captured
The additions are spread throughout the expanded Palpagos Islands. This means returning players do not necessarily need to reach the World Tree before they can begin filling the new Palpedia entries.
Several low and mid-level additions can be found around Windswept Hills, Moonless Shore, Bamboo Groves, Verdant Brook and other familiar locations.

Where to Find the Palworld New Pals
The Palworld new Pals are spread across both existing areas and locations introduced or expanded through the 1.0 update.
A handful can be caught during the early game, but the largest concentration is found in Sunreach and the World Tree. Players hoping to complete every new Palpedia entry will therefore need to progress through much of the main game.
| Region | New Pals found there |
|---|---|
| Windswept Hills and Moonless Shore | Pupperai, Clovee, Tanzee Ignis, Amione, Wispaw and Muffly |
| Bamboo Groves and Twilight Dunes | Puffolt, Elgrove and Skutlass |
| Verdant Brook and Frostbound Mountains | Leafan and Snugloo |
| Mount Obsidian | Moldron |
| Desiccated Dunes and nearby islets | Needoll, Gildra, Sekhmet, Tetroise, Skutlass Ignis, Pierdon, Carnibora and Nitemary Botan |
| Astral Mountains | Rayhound Cryst and Dualith |
| Sakurajima and Suncrest Islet | Bulldosu, Woolipop Terra and Polapup Terra |
| Feybreak surrounding islets | Prixter Lux, Smokie Cryst and Knocklem Ignis |
| Sunreach | Gloopie Primo, Pierdon Cryst, Valentail, Snock, Souffline, Lapiron, Hoodle, Slowatt, Bakemi, Solmora, Solmora Lux, Lapure, Eidrolon, Dynamoff, Tropicaw and Ophydia |
| World Tree | Petallia Ignis, Starryon Primo, Shaolong, Sibelyx Primo, Tetroise Primo, Celesdir Noct, Mycora, Loomen, Wistella, Solenne, Aegidron, Silvance, Majex, Snock Lux, Eidrolon Ignis, Flaracle, Roujay, Venusa, Renjishi, Dandilord, Univolt Cryst, Elgrove Cryst, Beakon Cryst, Moldron Cryst and Dualith Noct |
| Multiple regions or special encounters | Dupin, Panthalus and Astralym |
Some Pals can appear in more than one location. For example, Amione, Muffly, Puffolt, Leafan and Skutlass may also be encountered in Sunreach, while several elemental variants can be found inside the World Tree.
Early-Game Palworld New Pals

Players beginning a fresh 1.0 save can start collecting Palworld new Pals almost immediately.
Windswept Hills and Moonless Shore contain six additions:
- Pupperai
- Clovee
- Tanzee Ignis
- Amione
- Wispaw
- Muffly
Pupperai and Clovee are among the earliest new encounters. Travelling farther north opens opportunities to find Tanzee Ignis and Wispaw, although Wispaw is a nocturnal Pal and should be hunted at night.
Amione can be seen around water, while Muffly appears around Moonless Shore. These Pals provide an accessible introduction to the expanded roster without requiring endgame equipment or access to the new high-level islands.
Bamboo Groves and Twilight Dunes add Puffolt, Elgrove and Skutlass. Players should be more cautious in the dunes, where surrounding enemies may be significantly stronger than the new Pal they are attempting to catch.
New Pals in the Desiccated Dunes
The Desiccated Dunes contain one of the best groups of Palworld new Pals outside the major 1.0 regions.
Needoll, Gildra, Sekhmet and Tetroise can all appear within the wider desert. Gildra and Sekhmet may be less common than the other desert additions, so players may need to leave the area and return to refresh available spawns.
The neighbouring islets add another collection of Pals:
- Skutlass Ignis
- Pierdon
- Carnibora
- Nitemary Botan
Players travelling to Wildlife Sanctuary No. 3 should prepare for hostile security units as well as stronger wild Pals. Some of the sanctuary encounters can be harder to reach safely than ordinary desert spawns.
Palworld New Pals in Sunreach
Sunreach contains 16 of the Palworld new Pals and forms a major part of the 1.0 progression.
The new Pals associated with Sunreach are:
- Gloopie Primo
- Pierdon Cryst
- Valentail
- Snock
- Souffline
- Lapiron
- Hoodle
- Slowatt
- Bakemi
- Solmora
- Solmora Lux
- Lapure
- Eidrolon
- Dynamoff
- Tropicaw
- Ophydia
Sunreach is intended for higher-level players, with many encounters sitting around level 65 or above. Stronger Pal Spheres, upgraded armour and a well-prepared combat team are highly recommended before attempting to complete this part of the Palpedia.
Sunreach also introduces several useful elemental combinations. Solmora Lux combines Water and Electric, while Ophydia combines Grass and Water. Eidrolon is a Dragon and Dark boss Pal that represents a much greater challenge than the ordinary wild encounters found around the islands.
Palworld New Pals in the World Tree
The World Tree has the largest concentration of Palworld new Pals.
Players should expect level 75 or higher encounters throughout much of the region. It is designed as late-game content and includes several bosses alongside ordinary wild Pals and new variants.
The World Tree roster includes:
- Petallia Ignis
- Starryon Primo
- Shaolong
- Sibelyx Primo
- Tetroise Primo
- Celesdir Noct
- Mycora
- Loomen
- Wistella
- Solenne
- Aegidron
- Silvance
- Majex
- Snock Lux
- Eidrolon Ignis
- Flaracle
- Roujay
- Venusa
- Renjishi
- Dandilord
- Univolt Cryst
- Elgrove Cryst
- Beakon Cryst
- Moldron Cryst
- Dualith Noct
Different parts of the World Tree contain different groups of Pals. The Verdant Rootpath and Alluvion Lakefront include additions such as Petallia Ignis, Starryon Primo and Shaolong.
The Gilded City Ruins, Lacrymal Shoal and Shinespore Root contain Pals including Sibelyx Primo, Tetroise Primo, Celesdir Noct, Mycora, Loomen, Wistella, Solenne, Aegidron and Silvance.
Dusty Ravine and Rotmist Root contain several Dark and Fire additions, including Majex, Eidrolon Ignis, Flaracle, Roujay, Venusa and Renjishi.
The Boreal Summit is dominated by Ice variants. Univolt Cryst, Elgrove Cryst, Beakon Cryst and Moldron Cryst can all be found around this colder part of the World Tree.
Which Palworld New Pals Are Variants?
A sizeable part of the 1.0 roster is made up of elemental variants. These retain a connection to an existing Pal but may have a different element, appearance and Partner Skill.
The new variants include:
- Tanzee Ignis
- Skutlass Ignis
- Nitemary Botan
- Rayhound Cryst
- Woolipop Terra
- Polapup Terra
- Prixter Lux
- Smokie Cryst
- Knocklem Ignis
- Gloopie Primo
- Pierdon Cryst
- Solmora Lux
- Petallia Ignis
- Starryon Primo
- Sibelyx Primo
- Tetroise Primo
- Celesdir Noct
- Snock Lux
- Eidrolon Ignis
- Univolt Cryst
- Elgrove Cryst
- Beakon Cryst
- Moldron Cryst
- Dualith Noct
The variant labels generally indicate an elemental or thematic change:
| Variant label | General theme |
|---|---|
| Ignis | Fire |
| Cryst | Ice |
| Noct | Dark |
| Lux | Electric |
| Terra | Ground |
| Botan | Grass |
| Primo | Alternate or enhanced form |
The exact combination should still be checked individually. Some variants retain part of the original Pal’s element while gaining a second one, rather than changing to a completely different single type.
Can You Catch Astralym in Palworld?
Astralym cannot currently be caught.
Astralym appears as the final boss encounter connected to the World Tree storyline. Defeating it adds information to the Palpedia, but it does not leave an egg and cannot be captured during the battle.
This makes Astralym different from Panthalus, another major 1.0 boss Pal.
Can You Catch Panthalus in Palworld?
Panthalus can be captured and is required for progression into the World Tree.
It is a powerful Water Pal and one of the most important special encounters added in Palworld 1.0. Players should prepare thoroughly before attempting the battle, as catching Panthalus is not comparable to weakening an ordinary wild Pal.
Panthalus is listed as Palpedia number 203, while Astralym follows as number 204.
How to Prepare for Catching the New Pals
Completing all 72 Palworld new Pals will require more than travelling between map markers.
Before beginning a major catching run, players should prepare:
- A large supply of high-level Pal Spheres
- Heat-resistant and cold-resistant equipment
- A combat Pal with the Mercy Hit passive
- A Ring of Mercy where available
- Pal Tamer’s Glasses for checking important information
- Food and healing supplies
- Strong mounts for travelling through larger regions
- Space in the Palbox for repeated captures
The 1.0 progression system rewards players for catching multiple copies of the same Pal. Catching five of each can provide bonus experience and a Mimog Effigy, giving completionists another reason to collect more than one example.
Mercy Hit is especially useful because it prevents an enemy Pal from being reduced below one HP by the attacking Pal. This reduces the risk of accidentally defeating a rare spawn before a sphere can be thrown.
Are the New Pals Available on Old Saves?
The Palworld new Pals can be encountered on an existing save once the game has been updated to version 1.0.
However, access to areas such as Sunreach and the World Tree depends on progression requirements. Returning players may already have completed some of the necessary earlier content, while new players will need to move through the main quest chain before reaching the late-game additions.
Starting a new save is not mandatory simply to access the 72 new Pals. Players who want to experience the revised progression and world structure from the beginning may still prefer a fresh character.
What Are the Best New Pals in Palworld 1.0?
The best Palworld new Pals will depend on whether the player needs combat strength, movement, breeding potential or base work suitability.
Major bosses such as Panthalus, Eidrolon, Aegidron and Silvance are natural targets for combat-focused players. However, ordinary additions may prove equally valuable when assigned to a base or used to cover a missing element in a battle team.
Elemental variants are also worth investigating even when the original Pal is already owned. A Cryst, Ignis, Lux or Noct form can fill a completely different role and may possess a Partner Skill that changes how the Pal performs.
As players continue testing the complete roster, the strongest combat Pals, fastest mounts and best base workers should become much clearer.

More Palworld Guides
The 72 Palworld new Pals create an enormous number of new team combinations, breeding projects and Palpedia objectives. Early-game players can begin catching the additions around Windswept Hills, while experienced players face a much more demanding hunt through Sunreach and the World Tree.
With new species, elemental variants and major boss encounters included, the 1.0 expansion gives Palworld players considerably more to discover than a simple late-game roster update.
