The over the hill release date is Wednesday, 14 October 2026, when Funselektor’s new off-road adventure arrives on Steam. It’s a very different journey from art of rally: instead of competing for times, you’ll drive vintage 4×4 vehicles through wide open countryside, stopping to explore or get a stranded truck back onto the trail.
There are several things worth checking before launch, particularly the time the game unlocks in Britain and what you’ll actually pay. The developer has confirmed the standard US price and a launch discount, but regional pricing is a separate question. Console players also have a longer wait. Here’s what is and isn’t confirmed ahead of the over the hill release date.
What is the over the hill release date?
The over the hill release date is 14 October 2026 on Windows PC via Steam. Funselektor announced the day in August after its public demo and playtests. The full version adds more to explore across areas inspired by Canada and Algeria, including places that weren’t available in the demo.
There are no pre-orders for the PC version. You can put it on your Steam wishlist and buy it when sales go live. The over the hill release date refers to the full PC game rather than another limited playtest.
What time does over the hill release in the UK?
SteamDB currently records a store release timestamp of 15:00 UTC on Wednesday, 14 October. That’s 4pm BST in the UK, 11am EDT or 8am PDT in the United States and 5pm CEST in Central Europe.
That timestamp comes from Steam’s recorded release information. Funselektor hasn’t issued a separate guarantee that the game will unlock at precisely 4pm in Britain. Publishers can change store times before launch, so it’s worth following the Steam countdown for the latest information. The over the hill release date itself is confirmed, even if the precise unlock time changes.

How much does over the hill cost?
The regular PC price is $24.99 USD. Funselektor also announced a launch discount, although it hasn’t published the exact percentage or final UK price in pounds. Steam uses regional pricing, so the amount shown to British players may not be a simple currency conversion.
You can buy the game on its own. The separately sold soundtrack is $9.99 USD, while the $9.99 Supporter Pack contains a special name tag, cosmetics, a unique campsite, printable maps and 4K wallpapers. A bundle containing the base game, soundtrack and Supporter Pack has been announced for $37.99 USD.
None of the optional extras is required to play. If you only want to drive and explore, the standard edition is the one to check on the over the hill release date. The actual launch discount should be visible in your region once purchasing opens.
Which platforms are available on the over the hill release date?
Windows PC on Steam is the confirmed October launch platform. Funselektor has separately named PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 for 2027. Exact days haven’t been announced for those versions, so October 14 shouldn’t be described as a simultaneous console release.
No PS4, Xbox One or original Nintendo Switch edition has been announced. The over the hill release date on console remains a broad 2027 window, and there isn’t a confirmed console launch price or subscription arrangement yet.

What does the full game include?
You’ll drive four-wheel-drive vehicles inspired by the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, navigating forests, mountains and lakesides rather than conventional racing circuits. Weather and time of day can change the journey, and getting stuck is part of the experience.
Planks let you cross gaps and winches help pull vehicles out of trouble. Merchants and cabins offer equipment and customisation, while the in-game camera can be used to photograph wildlife for a compendium. There are also portals leading to new areas.
The game supports solo exploration or online co-op with up to four players in total. Those are announced features, not a promise that every vehicle unlock, photo location or portal requirement has already been established before the finished game arrives.
Can you preload or download over the hill before release?
There’s no announced full-game preload, and the developer says there will be no pre-orders. Steam currently lists 4 GB of available storage, but that doesn’t tell us the exact size of the final download: downloaded files and installed files may occupy different amounts of space.
If you’re waiting for the over the hill release date, Steam will be the most reliable place to check. On October 14 you’ll be able to confirm whether the game is available to buy, see the final regional price and inspect the real download requirement rather than relying on guesses from an earlier demo.
