The Walking Dead Survivors steals Resident Evil 2 artwork

A game’s artwork can become as iconic as the game itself, with it becoming instantly recognisable among fans. So when the artwork is stolen it stands out and fans can immediately recognize the original source. In the past, we have seen many pieces of artwork stolen by smaller developers and scams, but rarely by multi-million dollar companies.
The Walking Dead: Survivors, a new mobile game based on AMC’s popular zombie franchise The Walking Dead, recently released a new promotional image that looks strikingly similar to the Resident Evil 2 Remake artwork, in fact, it’s actually the same image.
First spotted on Twitter, the promotional image features two characters in front of the background that is used in the Resident Evil 2 artwork, you can see the RPD behind the characters.
While some people may say it is a stock image, or it just happens to look similar, if you look closely you can see Claire Redfield’s hand and gun poking out behind the female character, meaning they were just overlayed over the original image.
Neither AMC, Capcom, or developers Galaxy Play Technology Limited have commented on the image, with it possibly being outsourced to a third-party artist. But, this isn’t a blunder that a company such as AMC want attached to their IP.
