Pokemon Go is offering a week long Shiny Galarian Ponyta compensation event to make up for issues during the previous event. It’ll mean more chances for anyone who wants to get their hands on a shiny Galarian Ponyta.

When is the Shiny Galarian Ponyta Compensation?

The compensation event on Pokemon Go for the Shiny Galarian Ponyta will run from June 1st at 10 AM local time to June 8th 10 AM local time.

That gives you precisely a week to work on getting as many Galarian Ponyta as you want or need. Compensation events aren’t that common so it’s hard to say if this is the typical duration, but realistically a week is quite generous for an event some games might not have even offered.

What is the compensation event?

For the duration of the event specified above, the following effects will be in place:

  • Galarian Ponyta appearing more often in 7km Eggs
  • Additional Timed Research featuring Galarian Ponyta and bonus items.

It’s not a particularly large set of bonuses, but for those Galarian Ponyta enthusiasts out there, a whole week of time to hatch eggs at an enhanced rate will likely be quite the gift, particularly for those still seeking a shiny.

And even for those of us who won’t hatch a lot of eggs, we still benefit from the timed research.

Is there anything else to the Pokemon Go Shiny Galarian Ponyta Compensation event?

It seems like those changes are all they have planned for the compensation, so this event doens’t seem like a huge deal.

With that said, it is a full week to get the timed research with fixed rewards done. And plenty of chances via 7km Eggs for those trainers who are doggedly pursuing the recently released Shiny Galarian Ponyta, shown below.

I’m not a huge fan of the colour scheme here, but realistically Unicorn Ponyta wasn’t really my thing in the first place, so I hope all you unicorn Pokemon enthusiasts enjoy this shiny in my place.
