COD Mobile hints Zombies may be returning in future updates

COD Mobile and Zombies are two things we don’t see together enough, but two things everyone desperately wants. There has been a mobile version of Call of Duty’s Nazi Zombies before and Zombies have appeared in COD Mobile a couple of years ago, but there’s always something a little bit… Off with the whole thing. If the rumours are true and the leaks give us anything, we could be seeing Zombies return to COD Mobile in a huge way in the future.

Here’s everything you need to know about COD Mobile’s Zombies and the leaks we’ve seen so far.

Zombies In COD Mobile?!

We know it’s a bit of a stretch, but TheGamingRevo3 has been busy sharing leaks regarding what appears to be the return of Zombies in COD Mobile. We have a few teasers worth mentioning below.

Firstly, they shared an updated “App Icon” that shows Ghost and Primis Richtofen next to one another. As a character who exclusively features in Black Ops’ Zombies storyline, Richtofen is a sure-fire confirmation that something is on the way. When you look at the background of the image, it also resembles promotional imagery of Black Ops Cold War’s Die Maschine.

We know the two are separate, with COD Mobile notably getting different content than the mainstream games… But with Verdansk rumoured to appear, perhaps Activision is trying to bring COD Mobile more in-line with the console releases in terms of content.

Following the leaks above, the news that the undead will be returning to COD Mobile seems all but confirmed by the tweet from the official COD Mobile account yesterday.

As you can see, it looks like the Dark Aether is coming to COD Mobile and this surely means one thing: Zombies. We don’t know if this is going to be another limited-time event, or a fully established and supported game mode, but we can imagine that we’ll find out more soon.

Fans are sceptical, given the limited offerings the first time around… But, we’d like to think Activision and the COD Mobile team has learnt their lesson. We could be getting a fantastic expansion on COD Mobile’s current offerings very soon.
