Marvel Rivals Free Captain America Winter Soldier Skin is a free Epic costume earned by completing one match of Marvel Rivals’ Avengers: Endgame PvE mode, Thanos Descends. The suit belongs to Captain America, Steve Rogers, and is based on the MCU film rather than an outfit for the separate Winter Soldier hero.
Once you’ve finished a qualifying boss battle, check the event’s Complete 1 Match mission and the Captain America costume collection. Here’s how to enter the limited-time mode, confirm your reward and fix the most common reasons the skin isn’t showing.
How to unlock the costume
The mission is Complete 1 Match in Thanos Descends, the 50-player Avengers: Endgame PvE mode. During an active session, open Play, Change Mode, select Thanos Descends, and finish the battle. The outfit is earned for finishing one qualifying match, not for dealing 20,000 damage or healing 10,000 health. For the most reliable result, stay until Thanos is beaten and the end-of-match results have appeared.
Marvel Rivals Free Captain America Winter Soldier Skin: Where to claim and equip it
After the result screen, open Path to Doomsday: Avengers: Endgame from the event menu. Look at Complete 1 Match and claim the reward if a button is offered. The same objective also gives the Infinity Finale title. Next, open Heroes, Captain America, Costumes and look for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This is Steve Rogers’s MCU costume, not a costume for Bucky Barnes, who is a separate playable hero.
Marvel Rivals Free Captain America Winter Soldier Skin: When the PvE playlist opens
NetEase opened the event on October 24 in limited sessions. The official announcement lists 01:00–03:00 and 18:00–20:00 UTC, and one official patch page additionally shows 10:00–12:00 UTC. Those opening-day slots have ended. The playlist returns during four consecutive weeks, but the promotional event screen remains available longer. Check the in-game calendar for the next session because you cannot join this specific queue whenever you like. The wider event ends on November 26 at 09:00 UTC (09:00 GMT), although the scheduled PvE sessions may finish earlier.
Marvel Rivals Free Captain America Winter Soldier Skin: What happens inside the match
Up to 50 players fight Thanos and his army at the ruined Avengers Compound. The boss goes through four phases. First he swings a sword, then he mixes sword attacks with Infinity Stone abilities, followed by Gauntlet attacks and falling missiles. At the end, he starts the Snap countdown and the team must deal enough damage before the timer runs out. You can play a familiar damage, tank or healing hero; you don’t need to be the highest damage dealer to earn the costume.
Marvel Rivals Free Captain America Winter Soldier Skin: Why the outfit is not showing
First verify that the match was in Thanos Descends, not Infinity War 2v2 or a standard match. Make sure you stayed until the results screen. Then check whether Complete 1 Match has registered in the event page and whether it needs to be claimed. Look in Captain America’s costume selection, not Winter Soldier’s. If the objective has registered but the costume still does not appear after rechecking the claim screen, report the issue through the game’s support channel. There is no code required for this event reward.
Marvel Rivals Free Captain America Winter Soldier Skin: Other Endgame missions
The Marvel Rivals Free Captain America Winter Soldier Skin mission is only one of four tasks. Deal 20,000 damage to Thanos for the Thanos Plush accessory and Avengers: Endgame spray. Heal allies for 10,000 health to earn the Highway Hero MVP animation and Captain America: The Winter Soldier spray. Defeat 10 enemies for the matching nameplate and On Your Left emote. These rewards are separate from the costume mission, so you can go back for them after your first successful match.
Marvel Rivals Free Captain America Winter Soldier Skin: Free rewards outside the boss fight
You can also visit Times Square without fighting Thanos. Watch the Avengers: Endgame highlights screening continuously for two minutes to receive the Gallery Card, and take a group photo with the NPCs at the photo walls by the Avengers’ Gift Shop for 100 Units. These extra rewards belong to the same wider Endgame promotion but are not necessary for the Captain America outfit. For details, read the published Times Square guide and the Infinity Finale guide, which covers a different free Thor costume.
