Last Epoch Dreamslash Bladedancer skill is the new Season 5 mastery ability for Bladedancer, combining a melee strike with movement and Shadow interactions in one low-cost attack. It is designed to be used repeatedly, letting you close gaps without swapping to a separate traversal skill every time an enemy moves away.
The Last Epoch Dreamslash Bladedancer skill also gives Shadows a much bigger role than simply copying damage. Shadows can perform Dreamslash themselves, several nodes change whether they are consumed or resummoned, and the tree can convert the attack away from physical damage. That makes the skill useful for players who want mobility and Shadow management to be part of the same combat loop.
How to unlock the Last Epoch Dreamslash Bladedancer skill

To unlock the Last Epoch Dreamslash Bladedancer skill, spend 10 points in the Bladedancer passive tree. The requirement is much earlier than Shaman’s new 30-point skill, so Bladedancers can start experimenting with Dreamslash soon after committing to the mastery.
Dreamslash requires a melee weapon. It has a base mana cost of 3 and no cooldown. When you use it while outside melee range, your character dashes forward, damages enemies along the path and then performs the slash at the target. The dash and slash deal the same amount of damage, but the same enemy cannot be hit by both parts of your use.

How Dreamslash works with Shadows
The Last Epoch Dreamslash Bladedancer skill becomes more distinctive when Shadows are active. Shadows performing Dreamslash dash beyond their target and hit enemies along their path. A Shadow is only consumed for the attack if it is within 12 metres of the target, which prevents distant Shadows from being wasted on an attack they cannot meaningfully join.
Added damage applies at 150% effectiveness, and the skill gains 4% increased damage for each point of Dexterity. Its default tags are Physical, Melee, Area, Movement and Dexterity. Those tags matter when you are deciding which affixes and passives actually scale the attack before any conversion nodes are applied.
Umbral Recollection gives Shadows performing Dreamslash a chance to be resummoned after the attack. Recurring Dreams goes further by allowing nearby Shadows to consume mana to guarantee that resummon. This can keep a Shadow-heavy setup cycling, but it also gives the Last Epoch Dreamslash Bladedancer skill a much larger mana appetite than the base cost suggests if you build around guaranteed returns.
Best Dreamslash nodes for Shadow builds
Collapsing Shadows gives Dreamslash a chance to inflict Shadow Daggers on hit, with the chance doubled for Shadows performing the attack. That is one of the clearest routes for a player already invested in Shadow Daggers because the main attack and its Shadow copies both contribute.
Figments of Annihilation increases critical strike multiplier based on the number of Shadows performing Dreamslash. Gathering Darkness instead increases damage based on Shadows created recently. Both reward keeping Shadow generation active rather than treating Shadows as an occasional bonus.
Dreamshift changes the relationship more dramatically. Shadows stop performing Dreamslash normally. When you directly use the skill without Dream stacks, Dreamshift can consume a Shadow near an enemy, grant a Dream stack and perform Dreamslash from that Shadow’s location. This turns the Last Epoch Dreamslash Bladedancer skill into a more unusual repositioning and resource mechanic rather than a straightforward copy attack.
Can Dreamslash deal cold or fire damage?
Yes. The Last Epoch Dreamslash Bladedancer skill begins as physical damage, but its tree includes conversion choices. Trance of Isolation converts the base physical damage to cold and changes relevant bleed and ignite chance into frostbite chance. Apocalyptic Vision converts the base damage to fire and redirects several ailment interactions toward ignite and fire resistance shred.
Nightmare Steel changes movement instead of element. With it allocated, Dreamslash no longer moves you forward. It releases a damaging wave in the targeted direction, but the skill is still treated as a melee attack. This is useful if you like Dreamslash’s scaling and Shadow interactions but do not want your position changing every time you press it.
Because these nodes alter either damage type or movement behaviour, gear decisions should come after you know which branch you are using. A physical Dexterity setup, a cold conversion and a fire conversion do not want exactly the same supporting stats.
How to use Dreamslash in a Bladedancer build
The Last Epoch Dreamslash Bladedancer skill works best when you decide whether the movement or the Shadows are the main reason it is in your bar. As a movement attack, its no-cooldown design and low base mana cost make it easy to keep pressure on packs. As a Shadow engine, it rewards generation, resummoning and nodes that add value for each Shadow joining the attack.
Dreamslash is not tied to the seasonal Last Epoch Rage of Morditas mechanic or the Morditas boss progression. Once you meet the 10-point Bladedancer passive requirement and have a melee weapon equipped, you can use it anywhere the rest of your build is functional.
For fast melee setups, the Last Epoch Dreamslash Bladedancer skill can act as both an attack and a positioning tool. The Last Epoch Dreamslash Bladedancer skill is therefore a flexible addition rather than a mandatory replacement for every Rogue setup. Its strongest identity comes from combining repeated movement with Shadow manipulation. The Last Epoch Dreamslash Bladedancer skill works best when you build around the part of that loop you actually want instead of forcing every branch of the specialization tree into one character.
