Grow a Garden Black Cat Quest has 15 Halloween fruit-delivery sets, each requiring three crops of a specified minimum weight. Later sets also need the Haunted mutation. Finish sets one through fourteen for Haunted Seed Packs and the fifteenth for an Exotic Haunted Seed Pack.

The weights are from a detailed player-reported list, not the developer’s patch notes, so always check the live NPC display before consuming a particularly valuable fruit.
Starting the Black Cat quest
Grow a Garden Black Cat Quest begins in the separate Ghoul Garden event plot. Find the Black Cat NPC and open the current request. The cat wants three harvested Halloween fruits per set. Fruit must meet the named crop, minimum weight and, in later sets, the Haunted mutation. It is not asking for pets or seed packets. Save suitable crops instead of selling them at Sinister Sales.

A fruit with the Haunted mutation is required wherever the word Haunted precedes its name. The list is community verified, not a developer-issued requirements table, so compare it with your live Black Cat prompt before submitting rare fruit.
What rewards does the cat give?
Completing each Grow a Garden Black Cat Quest set from 1 through 14 pays a Haunted Seed Pack. Set 15 pays an Exotic Haunted Seed Pack, after which community guides describe the cycle restarting. These packs can provide plants usable in your normal garden, whereas the Halloween Market’s Scary Seeds stock is grown in the seasonal Ghoul Garden. A Haunted Seed Pack is not a fixed guaranteed single seed.
Finding the necessary Halloween plants
Prepare for Grow a Garden Black Cat Quest using the Scary Seeds stall in the Halloween Market. Community tables list Candy Corn Carrot at 10 Candy Corn, Spider Shrub at 50, Pumpkin Lantern at 350, Candy Cluster at 400, Witch’s Broom at 500 and Webberry at 900. Blood Kiwi, Fang Root and Haunted Hallow are pricier and less common. Since the market periodically restocks, check back while tending your existing Halloween crops.
Growing enough weight
A common Grow a Garden Black Cat Quest problem is harvesting the right crop at less than the minimum weight. Check the required minimum in your current set, plant several copies if possible and compare each harvested piece before selecting it. When a set asks for two Candy Corn Carrots, it means two distinct fruits. Save valuable qualifying examples and keep ordinary surplus separate for selling or Witches Brew.
Getting Haunted mutations
From set five onward, Grow a Garden Black Cat Quest introduces specific Haunted versions of crops. The event’s Haunted Sprinkler is associated with this mutation, while Part 2 adds hourly Bat Attack and Full Moon weather that can change seasonal fruit. A plant with a different mutation will not satisfy an explicit Haunted request. For the final set, Haunted Haunted Hallow means the Haunted Hallow crop must also carry Haunted.
The difficult last five sets
Later Grow a Garden Black Cat Quest sets need Webberry, Blood Kiwi, Fang Root and Haunted Hallow, including heavyweight and Haunted examples. It pays to keep these crops growing while finishing cheaper requests. The final Haunted Hallow seed has a community-listed market price of 50,000 Candy Corn and low stock availability. Collect it whenever your budget allows instead of expecting it to appear the moment the cat reaches the final set.
Why submitted fruit may be rejected
If Grow a Garden Black Cat Quest refuses a plant, verify its exact weight, whether the Haunted mutation is present, and whether it came from the Halloween garden. Players report that fruit obtained from Haunted Seed Pack seeds and grown on normal plots does not count for these event-garden deliveries. Also note that a normal Haunted Hallow without an additional Haunted mutation is insufficient for set fifteen.
How to finance the farming
Combine the Grow a Garden Black Cat Quest with regular Candy Corn farming. Sell surplus Halloween fruit at Sinister Sales, contribute eligible produce to Witches Brew, and keep the three requested fruits from each set. The Part 2 Trick or Treat House is optional and consumes Candy Corn, so it may be better to prioritise rare quest seeds before paying for increasingly expensive door knocks. Maintaining a source of new seeds is what keeps this quest moving.
When does the event finish?
The official Grow a Garden listing schedules Grow a Garden Black Cat Quest within Ghoul Garden Part 2, running from October 24 at 20:30 UTC to October 31 at 20:00 UTC. The finish is 8 PM GMT in Britain because clocks changed on October 25. The next scheduled update is not confirmation these same quests remain active. Complete as many sets as you can during the advertised Halloween period.
What happens after set 15?
Once the Grow a Garden Black Cat Quest cycle is reported to reset, experienced farmers with high-level seeds can work back through easier sets and repeat Haunted Seed Pack rewards. New players can stop after a handful of packs if they cannot afford rare final crops. Completing all fifteen is worthwhile for an Exotic Haunted Seed Pack, but it is not required before you can play other Halloween activities.
