For as long as I can remember Microsoft web browsers were always the absolute worst from Internet Explorer to the now refurbished Microsoft Edge but recently Microsoft Edge has only been getting better and more tailored toward gamers. With a new feature to Microsoft Edge you can now use your Xbox to run programs such as Google Stadia and most recently added keyboard and mouse functions for Edge via Xbox consoles.

Microsoft Edge has been getting incredible updates lately from people using the web browser on their new Series X to launch the browser-based and supported Google Stadia as well as using the Edge for its new Performance Boost Mode.

Microsoft Edge is currently using a new open source technology , the same as Google Chrome. However, Microsoft will be using this technology in new ways. Seeing how Google Stadia is in a constant uphill battle, this new technology may help Xbox officially push it away as competition. While nobody really compares the two systems, I think that systems such as Google Stadia and GeForce Now should be watched with a close eye by competitors.

This new feature is not officially released but as an Xbox Insider within the Skip-Ahead Alpha release of Microsoft Edge you can test out this feature and provide feedback, making the upgrade that much more likely to be the best it can be upon release.

Microsoft released an update for the Xbox itself that added keyboard and mouse support for the console, for games that supported such a feature.

Although I personally don’t use keyboard and mouse, I think it could be a great stepping point for people who generally do or just wish to lean into PC gaming but want to try out keyboard and mouse on their Xbox first.

If you need any help or have any questions about setting up keyboard and mouse for your Xbox One, Series X or Series S you can check out Xbox’s support page here.

As mentioned earlier, people with the Xbox Series X soon discovered that they could run games from their Google Stadia accounts within the Microsoft Edge browser.

While there may not be much of a selection on Google Stadia, at least in comparison to what can be accessed on an Xbox, there are still people who have had Stadia accounts before getting their hands on the new consoles and want to take full advantage of that.

Honestly, I would do the same but now with keyboard and mouse support combined with this ability players will find a whole new way to play games on the new consoles.

Even though players aren’t actually playing an Xbox game, they are still using the console to play which is incredible and only shows that Xbox truly means it when they say they don’t think people should be tied to one system.
