Madden 23: Early access, release date, the Griddy and more

As we plunge into Mid-August, gaming and sports fans are getting pumped up for the new Madden 23. EA Sports traditionally drops off their new franchise installment around this time of the year, and 2022 is no different. Madden 23 is set to be released on August 19, Friday this week.
EA Sports also teased its fans with early access to Madden 23. The early access was released this Tuesday, August 16, with a catch: you must pre-order the All-Madden Edition, which runs for $100 ($90 with EA Play). This has gathered mixed reviews from players with their first impressions on the game ranging from gameplay in H2H matches and opening their playbook.
Included in the 3-day early access are 4600 Madden Points, Dual Entitlement to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X version, Exclusive Early Access Challenges, and more.
FieldSENSE, soundtrack, and collaborations
The game also boasts the use of the all-new FieldSENSE™ Gameplay System. According to the official Madden 23 website, this “equips players with more control at every position in every mode and is a new foundation for consistent, ultra-realistic gameplay.” However, this feature is only available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The Griddy, a popular dance in every major sports game, has also been announced to be available for Madden 23 players. Some big names have been doing the Griddy after their touchdowns. Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase would often be seen busting it out after scoring a touchdown. The Griddy was also announced to be coming to FIFA 23 and NBA 2K23.
Aside from promising ultra-realistic aesthetics, the game also announced that the Madden 23 Soundtrack will feature hits from “MVP artists, all-star collaborations, gifted rookies, and gritty exclusives.” The soundtrack is putting hip-hop in the spotlight. According to EA:
“For the first time in franchise history the soundtrack has a prize quarterback, with 3-time GRAMMY winning writer/producer/rapper Hit-Boy creating 33 exclusive beats for the game’s cinematics. In addition, Hit-Boy and two-time GRAMMY nominee Cordae collaborated on the bespoke track ‘CHECKMATE’, which will debut in Madden NFL 23 around NFL Kickoff.”

The game also features collaborations from hip-hop superstars like Pusha T ft. Lil Uzi Vert & Don Toliver, Snoop Dogg ft. Nas and Ty Dolla $ign ft. Wiz Khalifa. The official playlists can also be streamed on Spotify and Apple Music, and the game’s entire soundtrack once it’s released on August 19, with more new music updates dropping during the season.
Madden 23 is available on August 19th on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
