Hotwheels Unleashed Game of the Year Editon removed from December 2022 Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft has recently announced an incredible lineup of games for the Xbox Game Pass for December 2022. Among the many games on the list, Hot Wheels Unleashed – Game of the Year Edition was one of those that definitely caught the attention of expecting subscribers of the video game service.

The 2021 racing game was previously scheduled to become available on the Xbox Game Pass in mid-December. However, it appears that this will no longer be the case, as Microsoft has updated the lineup, with Hot Wheels Unleashed nowhere to be found.

Microsoft announces removal of Hot Wheels Unleashed from Xbox Game Pass lineup

Microsoft has noted in their December 2022 Xbox Game Pass blog post that subscribers can no longer expect the game to arrive in the service as they previously indicated, saying:

Hot Wheels Unleashed – Game of the Year Edition is no longer coming on Dec 15, 2022 as previously announced. We will update with a new date when we have more information to share.

No reason was shared for this change. However, this isn’t the first time that something of this nature has taken place. It can be recalled that the beat ’em up party game Gang Beats was initially scheduled to be available on the Xbox Game Pass in December 2020 but only made it into the service half a year later.

This means that the addition of Hot Wheels Unleashed – Game of the Year Edition to the service’s library is still a possibility. As Microsoft said, they “will update with a new date” when they have more information. It could still be much later this month or a few months later. However, as of writing, there’s no telling how long the wait would exactly be.

Xbox Game Pass is a video game subscription service from Microsoft that allows users to access a rotating catalog of video games.
