Guilty Gear Strive Delayed Following Open Beta Test
Arc System Works’ latest instalment in the Guilty Gear franchise, Guilty Gear Strive, has been delayed from the April 9th to the June 11th, 2021
Following the Open Beta Test that took place on PS4 and PS5 from February 17th to the 23rd, ArcSys released the following statement on their Twitter account.
We have made the tough decision to move the release date of “Guilty Gear -Strive” (previously planned for April 9, 2021) to June 11, 2021.
Since we have received valuable feedback after the Open Beta Test, we would like to make the most of this opportunity to provide the best game possible. We need extra time to polish some aspects of the game, such as the online lobbies and the server’s stability.

The Open Beta Test had a rocky start, with several reports of people being unable to log in or proceed to an online lobby for the first few days. The test, originally planned from the 17th to the 21st of February, was extended by 2 days following these reports.
Taking into account how much traffic and attention the Open Beta Test gathered, players definitely tested the mettle of their servers. The rollback system garnered the attention of players around the world for how efficient and seamless it felt, but the online lobbies themselves felt like they had room for improvement.
Recently, the 15th character of the game’s roster was revealed to be I-no. Though she was not playable in the demo, the series favorite guitar-toting fighter who was first introduced in the 2002 game Guilty Gear XX definitely has older fans excited.
