Balan Wonderworld to get a day-one patch

A new blog post from Square Enix tells us that Balan Wonderworld will be receiving a day-one patch after recent criticism of the Balan Wonderworld demo.

Players were able to download the Balan Wonderworld demo back in late January on multiple platforms, and since then, the reviews have been a bit rough. Many have stated that the game is a bit lacking in gameplay and is simplistic in its design.

After receiving these sub-par reviews, Square Enix and producer Fujimoto decided to respond and give players a day-one patch to address these issues.

There‘s been a wide range of opinions and responses to the demo, and unfortunately at the current stage of development, it simply isn’t feasible to reflect every piece of feedback into the game. However to offer you all a more balanced gameplay experience, we will be implementing a day one patch for the full game. Specifically, this patch will adjust movement controls, camera movement, and rebalancing of the difficulty.

This is certainly a good sign for the future of Balan Wonderworld, and could possibly fix the biggest issues players had in the demo.

Due to the fact that Balan Wonderworld is set to release very soon on March 26, though, there will probably be some aspects that will unfortunately go unfixed.

It is good to see that the producers and Square Enix are concerned with player feedback and are taking pieces of criticism into account to better improve the gameplay experience. Hopefully, this will reflect in the day-one patch we will be getting for Balan Wonderworld.

Along with Fujimoto, the many people working on this game include Yuji Naka and Naoto Ohshima, who have worked on Sonic the Hedgehog together. Those who worked on Balan Wonderworld seem to care greatly for the game and it seems they are doing what they can to give us players a better experience.

Balan Wonderworld certainly has potential with great cutscenes and interesting characters, so here’s hoping the day-one patch will bring more wonder to this game.
