Tennis is a very straightforward game to play and learn in Nintendo Switch Sports. One thing to note is that the mode can only be played in Doubles, with two players on each team.

For some reason, this can’t be changed and players are forced to pair up with another player or control both if playing single-player.

If you’re playing single-player then both characters will perform your swings of the Joy-Con controller, which can make things very confusing as there is a delay between swinging your racket and being able to again.

This means that if you miss the hit with your first character you might not have the time to swing again with the second.

Speaking of character movements, players don’t need to control the movement and positioning of the characters, with the game itself handling that. All you need to focus on is swinging your racket and hitting the ball back into your opponent’s side of the court.

To swing your tennis racket, swing your Joy-Con controller in the direction your want to swing, with this determining what type of hit you will pull off, much like tennis in real life.

There is also a Best of 3 and Best of 5 modes, with the winner being the first player to win 2 or 3 matches depending on which mode is played.
