Nintendo Switch Sports has brought the party-style sports game franchise back. Popular games such as bowling and tennis returning, while new modes such as badminton and volleyball have been added.
With badminton being a new mode in Nintendo Switch Sports, here is everything you need to know including how to play, the match format, as well as tips and tricks.
How to play Nintendo Switch Sports Badminton
Badminton and Tennis are the two easiest games to play in Nintendo Switch Sports, with neither giving the player a tutorial before jumping into the first match.
The only tip given to the play is on a loading screen that explains how to make shots, saying,
“You can control which direction to send the shuttlecock by swinging the Joy-Con in the direction you want to hit it.”
This is all you really need to know to get started in Badminton. The character moves automatically meaning you don’t need to worry about your positioning and can instead focus on hitting your shots and earning points.
The only special shot you can use is the Drop Shot, which is performed by holding either ZL or ZR depending on which hand you hold the Joy-Con in.
A drop shot is a powerful shot designed to end the round, with it just passing the net and it is a difficult shot to block and counter, meaning this can often be used to end the round.
