Resident Evil 8, or VILLAGE as its officially called, is the next entry in the Resident Evil series and will continue the story of Ethan and Mia as they end up in a castle this time.

But will the next entry in the RE series be on Xbox One?

Is Resident Evil 8 On Xbox One?

The Xbox One was released in November 2013, making it over seven years old at this point.

Microsoft released their next-generation system, the Xbox Series X|S in November 2020, but developers will still be supporting the last-gen consoles for quite a while yet.

Capcom had originally announced that the game would be coming to both PS4 and Xbox One, but then quickly cancelled the last-gen versions, instead focusing on the next-gen versions.

However, during a recent RE Showcase event it was announced that Capcom had been hard at work and Resident Evil 8 will be releasing on both the Xbox One and PS4 versions would be going ahead and will launch alongside the next-gen versions on day one.

A new trailer for Resident Evil 8 was showcased, giving players a greater insight into what to expect, as well as the relationship between Ethan and the unnamed tall woman.

Release Date and Platforms

It was revealed that Resident Evil 8 will be available worldwide on May 7th 2021. It was also confirmed that the game will be coming to the last gen consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One. Capcom previously cancelled these versions due to hardware limitations.
