It’s time for another spotlight hour, and this time it’s all about Alolan Rattata in Pokemon Go.

If you’re a fan of the Alola based rodent, this will be a fun event for you.

When is the Pokemon Go Alolan Rattata spotlight hour?

The spotlight hour will take place starting on May 18th at 6:00PM and will end an hour later, as you might expect it to.

As per usual with Pokemon Go events, the times are local – so don’t worry about the timezones involved at all, it’ll be the listed time for you.

If you’re interested in catching more Pokemon Go spotlight hour events, you should be aware that we try to cover all of them here on The Click!

There’s an up to date list of all upcoming spotlight hours for the month, available at the link below.

What should we expect from the spotlight hour?

As you may or may not have guessed, the Alolan Rattata Pokemon Go spotlight hour will feature… a whole lot of Alolan Rattata.

In fact, it’ll be almost exclusively Alolan Rattata for the entire hour!

But if the little rodent doesn’t interest you alone, don’t worry.

The event will have the shiny variant available, so the increased spawn rate can be useful in finding that shiny – and even if you’re not interested in that, the event also doubles the evolution experience for the duration.

Is there anything else?

No we’ve about covered everything by now. Spotlight hours are simple events, one hour of one Pokemon spawning a hell of a lot.

Outside of that you get the event bonus, in this case doubled experience for evolutions, and the chance to use the increased spawns to farm a shiny, but that’s really about it.

I’ve included the Shiny version of Alolan Rattata above for those who may be curious about shiny hunting during the event. It’s an interesting-looking little rodent, for sure.

In any case, that’s about everything for this spotlight hour.

As always, you can find more Pokemon pieces on The Click right here, and more by me personally here.
