Looking for something with a little more sparkle? There are hundreds of Shiny Pokemon in the Sinnoh region, all you need to do is find them. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl don’t make it easy to get your hands on them – but there are a few things you can keep an eye on to increase your odds.

How to Find a Shiny Pokemon in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Finding a Shiny Pokemon in any Pokemon game is a bit of a mission. It’s something that very few players have done playing naturally and there’s always a statistic that suggests you have a one-in-a-million shot at getting one. Thankfully, though, you can actually do something about increasing your odds. It isn’t a guarantee, but it’s better than nothing, right?

Firstly, you’re going to need to make sure you’ve beaten the Elite Four and finished the Sinnoh Dex. This is no small feat, but you don’t need to actually catch all 151 of the Sinnoh region’s Pokemon – you just need to come across them all in the wild or through Pokemon battles.

On top of this, you’re going to need to get your hands on a PokeRadar. This should also be something that you pick up from completing the Sinnoh region Pokedex. With this, you can specifically hunt for Shiny Pokemon. It takes time, but you’ll find that this is the best way to find a Shiny Pokemon.

If you’re after a specific Pokemon – one of the ones you can interact with – then you can always try the classic save-and-quit method. Just save before you interact with the Pokemon and initiate the Pokemon battle – if it isn’t a Shiny variant of the Pokemon, you just restart your game and go again!
