Rainbow Six Siege: Kali buffs detailed ahead of Crimson Heist

Rainbow Six Siege Kali Buff Shifting Tides

Every Rainbow Six Siege update is going to make changes to Operators and the Kali Buffs coming to Siege in the Y6S1 update are some of the most exciting we’ve seen in a long time.

Kali is one Operator that has suffered slightly in the recent Rainbow Six Siege title updates. Ubisoft are finding it hard to balance her damage output as one of the few snipers in the game and the pick rates have proven that their work balancing her is far from done.

That being said, we’re getting nice little Kali buff in the next Rainbow Six Siege update and we have everything you need to know about it below.

Kali Buffs Coming To Siege

Ubisoft began their discussions on the next Kali buff in a pretty standard way.

” Our main objective with Kali is to make her a viable and balanced operator.”

It seems a little obvious, but what is interesting is that the Rainbow Six Siege devs clocked two things as the key aspects of achieving this: The LV Explosive Lance, and Kali’s CSRX 300.

Without the full patch notes, we don’t know for sure what’s changing with the LV Explosive Lance, but we do know that Kali’s CSRX 300 is getting a minor, but vital, tweak which should make her a much more viable pick going forward.

Below, we have the changes ripped straight out of the Designer’s Notes and then what this means.

Increased CSRX 300 damage to 127 (from 122)

  • 1 body shot will kill a 3-speed Operator
  • 1 body shot will DBNO a 2-speed Operator
  • 1 body shot will DBNO a 1-speed Operator

Wearing Rook Vest:

  • 1 body shot will DBNO a 3-speed Operator
  • 2 body shots will DBNO a 2-speed Operator
  • 2 body shots will DBNO a 1-speed Operator

What’s key here is that 3-speed Operators are now falling into that DBNO category with a Rook Vest and everyone can be hit and downed with Kali’s CSRX 300 going forward.

Obviously, this inadvertently changes the Defenders meta by making Rook a vital counter to a Kali Attacker, but in the thick of things that might not even be enough.

At the moment, the damage modifiers for limb shots and penetration hits, or “wall bangs” are still in place in an effort to prevent a Kali from getting lucky and finishing a whole team in one magazine.

However, with this slight damage increase, a good Kali and good communication and spotting could make her a lethal pick going forward into the new season.

Rainbow Six Siege’s Y6S1 Update is dropping March 16th, 2021. That means, although some of the content is locked for players without the Battle Pass until the end of the month, the changes above will be in-game from the update.
