Age of Empires 4 is finally here, so you might be wondering which factions made it into the game at launch? To answer that exact question, we have a full list of playable civilisations in Age of Empires 4 ready for you here.

The list isn’t too huge right now, but does already consist of a total of 8 factions.

All the Age of Empires 4 Factions

So, which factions made the cut into Age of Empires 4 at launch? Well, here’s your answer. The civilisations available in Age of Empires 4 currently are:

  • Rus
  • Holy Roman Empire
  • Chinese
  • English
  • Delhi Sultanate
  • Mongols
  • Abbasid Dynasty
  • French

As per usual with a relatively small roster at launch, there are questions about who will be added in the future, and discussion about who should be added as well. The aoe4 subreddit has a recent thread with a poll for example.
