Today was a great day for Riot Games, as their affiliate Riot Forge announced their new games during the Nintendo Switch exclusive Riot Forge stream. Today, we had the official launch of Ruined King: A League of Legends Story and the recently announced Hextech Mayhem.

Riot Forge was announced back in 2019 during the Riot Games 10 Years Anniversary Stream as a new affiliate to develop other games in the League of Legends universe. During that time, we received the first trailer for the Ruined King game.

From then, their social media went offline for almost a whole year. Their last activity on Twitter was a traditional “happy holidays” post. But a few weeks ago, they reappeared claiming that Pyke stole their password.

Right after coming back, their whole Twitter was now themed with the newly announced Hextech Mayhem game, focused on Ziggs causing, you guessed it, mayhem through Piltover. Fasting forward to today, both Ruined King and Hextech are now officially released.

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is a turn-based game developed by Airship Syndicate focusing on a different take on the “Ruination” event in the LoL universe.

Instead of telling the story of how the Sentinels of Light defeated Viego, it shows Miss Fortune, Pyke, Illaoi, Ahri, Yasuo, and Braum (a VERY improbable team up) making their stand against the mist.

And all of that is shown in a beautiful game mixed with tactical battles and a perfect setting. The combat system resembles the South Park games, but with a lot more depth involved and fewer fart jokes.

Ruined King was speculated to be canceled, as it was supposed to be released way earlier this year, but it’s finally here, available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X/S, Playstation 4, Steam, GOG, and Epic Games.

Hextech Mayhem, on the other hand, is a much more friendly (and explosive) experience. Join Ziggs as he crashes back into Piltover in the way he knows best: exploding everything in big style!

The game developed in association with Choice Provisions is rhythm-based in which you control the explosive Yordle as he goes all out in his peculiar way of having fun. Bomb to the beat, as the game says!

Hextech Mayhem is available on Nintendo Switch, Steam, GOG, and Epic Games. A Netflix port of the game is coming soon for the recent Netflix Games feature.

Two other new games were announced by Riot Forge: Song of Nunu and CONV/RGENCE. The first one is an adventure/puzzle game focused on the best friends Nunu and Willump, going on their own journey through Freljord.

The game is being developed by Tequila Works and is set to be released in 2022 for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X/S, Playstation 4, Steam, GOG, and Epic Games.

CONV/RGENCE is another ambitious title. The beat-em-up game is developed by Double Stallion Games and focuses on Ekko traveling through the slums of Zaun. We follow the Boy Who Shattered Time as he uncovers a nasty plot from the city chem barons.

And of course, the game will feature his traditional time travel abilities. But he can only go back and not forward in time, specifically to 2022, when the game will be finally released for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X/S, Playstation 4, Steam, GOG, and Epic Games.

After all of these sudden releases and trailers, we can barely wait for the next games announced by Riot Forge. It took a while for them to actually start, but it seems that it was really worth the wait.
