Fischl’s domain in the Golden Apple Archipelago is here, and with it comes new puzzles, so here’s how you can solve Gaze of the deep puzzles.

How to solve Gaze of the Deep puzzles

Genshin Impact has added yet another new type of puzzle during the return to Golden Apple Archipelago of patch 2.8, Gaze of the Deep puzzles. To solve Gaze of the Deep puzzles, players must adjust and shift their perspective of an object to repair the nearby area.

This involves using the controls prompted to you, movement and zoom, to adjust your cameras position and proximity to the object to shift your perspective until the object in view of the Gaze of the Deep looks like it’s in the correct place in its camera view – exiting the puzzle after doing so will reveal that has solved the Gaze of the Deep puzzle in the process.

Some of the puzzles require you to adjust your angle and zoom such that an angle appears larger, so that it can weigh down a pressure plate and cause a reaction. Others you are required to fiddle with your view of the object until it is aligned with some kind of obstacle to your progress onwards, which then is removed or otherwise fixed for you.

Note that as shown below, when you are close to solving the Gaze of the Deep puzzle, a small circle will appear in the centre of your view. Avoid making large adjustments when you see this.

They’re an interesting little puzzle addition to the game, though you need to be quite precise with how you try to solve Gaze of the Deep puzzles. If MiHoYo is testing this out as a potential future puzzle design, it seems like they’ll want to make them just a bit more generous when the puzzle considers itself complete.

Speaking of which, you should expect them to return.

MiHoYo often trial new and upcoming mechanics in short-term events like this one. The boat that is now dotted through the world of Genshin Impact was originally trialled during the first visit to the Golden Apple Archipelago, as an example.
