Genshin Impact: Escaping the Fantastic Compass domain puzzle during End of the Line

The End of the Line quest continues the trend in Genshin 2.7 of not being overly clear about what to do, so here’s how to escape the fantastic compass domain.

How to escape the Fantastic Compass during End of the Line quest

While playing through End of the Line in the latest part of the Genshin Impact 2.7 update, most of what to do is obvious. After you meet up with Xiao and play through his fight with the shadow of another Yaksha however, things become less clear – largely because the Fantastic compass isn’t there to interact with in that room.

Well, in actuality it turns out it is still in the room, it’s just hidden slightly this time.

To access the fantastic compass this time around, you need to get rid of the obstacle in the way. There’s nothing in this room that’ll allow you to do this though, making this a bit confusing at first.

As you may note in that image however, there is a lever on the floor near the damaged gateway. And the compass is noted as moving us through time by the characters…

Head back through the portal and subsequent portal tunnel to return to the room prior to where you catch up with Xiao. You don’t have to worry about ending up in the wrong version here, as you cannot have adjusted the time in Xiao’s room yet due to not being able to interact with the compass.

If you check the location of the gate in this version of the room, there’s a small lever you can pull to open the gate. This doesn’t really anything in this version of the room, as nothing exists behind the gate but a few rocks.

Return to the end of the line quest room where you encountered Xiao however, and you’ll find the gate is gone entirely, with nothing but a spider left blocking you from the compass.

Give the spider and its web a few smacks to get them out of the way, then interact with the Fantastic Compass again. The new setting this time is right back at the beginning of the compass, requiring you to wind it backwards until it hits the rock again.

After that, just wander on through the portal again and you’re back on course to completing the quest.
