miHoYo teased the release of Genshin Impact on PS5 before the PlayStation 5 had even launched back in November 2020.

Now it has been confirmed that Genshin Impact will be coming to PS5 soon.

In a tweet, developers miHoYo announced that the smash-hit Adventure-RPG will be making its way to the next-gen system later this Spring.

“Genshin Impact comes to PlayStation 5 with enhanced visuals, fast loading, and DualSense controller support.

Face (and wield) the elements of Teyvat this Spring.”

The game is currently playable on PS5 but instead uses the PlayStation 4 version via backwards compatibility.

But this new version will offer improved visuals, loading times and also new DualSense support, likely utilizing haptic feedback and other features of the controller, which will further enhance the experience for next-gen players.

Nintendo Switch Port

Around the same time that Genshin Impact was announced for PS5, it will also announced for the Nintendo Switch.

As of right now that version has yet to materialize, but with the game also being available on iOS and Android, we should see the game at some point in 2021 as the Switch runs on mobile architecture so it shouldn’t be too difficult to get working on the system.

Xbox Port?

It is extremely unlikely that Genshin Impact will ever be released on Xbox, and we’re not quite sure why.

During an interview Game Rant, miHoYo stated that they currently have no plans to bring the game to Microsoft’s range of consoles.

“We have plans regarding next-gen consoles, and we will be announcing them as these plans take shape, we do not currently have plans to release the game on Xbox.”
