Genshin Impact 1.6: Everything revealed in the Special Program

Today, miHoYo aired the Special Program focused on the upcoming version 1.6 of Genshin Impact, called ”Midsummer Island Adventure”, revealing what players can expect of the new version, and much more. 

With that said, we will now talk about everything that was revealed and featured in today’s Special Program.

Genshin Impact 1.6 Official Trailer 

To start with the right foot, check out below, if you haven’t already, the English trailer for Genshin Impact’s version 1.6 ”Midsummer Island Adventure”, which will release on June 9th worldwide.

The New Archipelago

As featured n the trailer above, the new version will come together with a whole new region, the already leaked archipelago.

The archipelago will be a limited-time new region and will be accessible through special way-points. Travelers will then be able to use those points to summon their own boat and reach new places, puzzles, and quests all over the islands.

Kaedahara Kazuha and a Klee Rerun 

The new version will feature, until further notice, 2 5-star banners, the first one featuring the long-awaited rerun of fan-favorite Klee, and the second one featuring the debut of the game’s new Anemo 5-star Kazuha.

Klee’s banner will be released together with the new version, Kazuha’s, on the other hand, will be released at a later date, together with his new character quest, and featured weapon banner.

Upcoming Skins 

The Program also gave us the first official glimpse at the upcoming summer-themed skins for both Jean and Barbara, called ”Sea Breeze Dandelion” and ”Summertime Sparkle”.

According to miHoYo, Barbara’s skin will be available as part of the upcoming Echoing Tales event. Jean’s on the other hand, will be available as part of the games shop.

New Weapons

Tho new weapons were also revealed during the stream, the already leaked new 4-star Fischl-themed bow ”Mitternachts Waltz” and the 5-star sword ”Freedom-Sworn”. You can check out the new weapon’s visual below:

A New Boss

The special Program also revealed the first official glimpse of the game’s upcoming boss Maguu Kenki. Capable of cloning himself by creating phantoms, and deal high amounts of elemental damage.

You can check out Maggu Kenki’s official teaser below, which will be part of the version’s main event.

The boss will also be invulnerable for certain angles, making coming close to him necessary.

A New Archon Quest

A new Archon quest was also revealed, which will feature Kazuha, and be the prologue of the game’s upcoming Chapter II. You can check out some screenshots of the upcoming archon quest, featuring Beidou, Kazuha, and of course, the Traveler.

Midsummer Island Adventure

The new version will feature a great amount of Island related events, taking place in the new archipelago. The version’s main event ”Midsummer Island Adventure”, will take players to the new ”Dodoland” region.

The event will be filled with mini-games, where players will have to take part in many challenges to get currency, in with they can exchange for many items, including the upcoming 4-star Klee-themed Catalyst ”Dodoco Tales”.

A New Challenge

A new domain Challenge was also revealed, where players will be able to face many bosses, including the new Maguu Kenki boss, and change the difficulty and claim rewards related to the challenge level.

New Housing Features 

Travelers will now be able to invite up to 3 characters to visit your Serenitea Pot, which will give you rewards. Players will be able to interact with each character in the realm and be able to gain exclusive rewards and dialogues.

More on Inazuma  

By the end of the Program, Ayaka made an appearance, as she explained more about the nation of Inazuma, and the political conflict currently in place there.

Genshin Impact is currently available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, mobile devices – Android and iOS – and for PC, via miHoYo’s official launcher. A version of the game for the Nintendo Switch is reportedly in development.

Genshin Impact’s version 1.6 will be released on June 9th. Right now, players can take part in the second phase of the game’s current version 1.5 ”Beneath the Light of Jadeite” and try to pull for its featured 5-star Eula and her featured weapon, the 5-star Claymore Song of the Broken Pines.
