Fortnite: How to register for the PlayStation Cup 2022

The Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 competitive season has officially begun, with Twitch Rivals recently holding the Streamer Bowl 3, marking the first Fortnite LAN event in two years. Most tournaments will remain online and that is the case with the new PlayStation Cup, which will see players on the PS4 and PS5 battle it out in Solos format for their share of over $107,000.

Here is everything you need to know about the Fortnite PlayStation Cup so you can try and claim those Victory Royales and walk away with some prize money.

How to register for the PlayStation Cup

In a blog post, Epic Games laid out everything we need to know about the upcoming Fortnite PlayStation Cup, which will take place using the new two-round format across February 11-12.

Players won’t need to register for the tournament, instead, it will become available to select from the in-game lobby, and then players can jump into their matches.

The first round will be an open tournament, meaning that all players on a PlayStation console will be able to take part regardless of their Arena points.

But, only the top 100 players from each region will advance to round 2, with the top players from those matches taking home prize money.

Both rounds will take place over three hours, with Round 1 giving players the chance to take part in 10 matches, while Round 2 will only feature six

PlayStation Cup Prize Pool

The prize pool for the PlayStation Cup seems much more balanced than what we see in some tournaments.

Despite being smaller regions,s NA-East, NA-West, and Brazil will also receive the same prize pool as Europe, while Oceania and the Middle East will have the same prize pool as each other.

Every Fortnite tournament uses a slightly different points format, with some favoring placement, some favoring eliminations, and some being somewhere in the middle.

Here is the points format for the PlayStation Cup, overall it seems to be placement heavy so players will be looking to survive as long as possible and make it to the end game.

Victory Royale: 30 points
2nd: 25 points
3rd: 22 points
4th: 20 points
5th: 19 points
6th: 17 points
7th: 16 points
8th: 15 points
9th: 14 points
10th: 13 points
11th – 15th: 11 points
16th – 20th: 9 points
21st – 25th: 7 points
26th – 30th: 5 points
31st – 35th: 4 points
36th – 40th: 3 points
41st – 50th: 2 points
51st – 75th: 1 point

Each Elimination: 1 point*
