Destiny 2: How To Get Adept Weapons

After Adept Weapons were added back into Destiny 2 in Beyond Light, we’ve got everything you need to know about how you can get them in-game.

Bungie does know how to keep things interesting, don’t they? If your current arsenal isn’t quite what you’re after, have you thought about going after an Adept weapon?

This call-back to the first Destiny is far from outdated though, we have everything you need to know below.

What Is An Adept Weapon In Destiny 2?

An Adept Weapon in Destiny 2 is essentially some of the best weapons in the game at the moment.

They’re endgame weapons that hark back to the origins of the Destiny series. Although they’re not exactly the same as the Adept Weapons we saw in Destiny, they’re pretty worthwhile in Destiny 2 and they’re still just as hard-hitting.

Unlike standard weapons, when an Adept weapon drops in Destiny 2 it will drop “masterwork-ed” and feature a number of additional bonus stats on top of this. They also all come with unique shaders so you’ll know who’s got one.

To put it plainly, they’re really good. Like, some of the best.

There are a couple of ways you can get your hands on one though and we’re going to run through them below.

Grandmaster Nightfalls

In the next update, the March 16th patch for Destiny 2, Adept Weapons is going to be available in Grandmaster Nightfalls!

This was confirmed in the latest “This Week At Bungie” blog post from the development team. Below, we have everything you need to know about what these limited-time strikes are and what it means in regards to Adept Weapons.

Grandmaster Nightfalls Summary

• Strike difficulty is set to 1350 Power. 
• The minimum Power required is 1325. 
• Contest Mode is enabled, so even if you go higher than 1325, you will be capped. 
• Each strike will have a specific set of modifiers to ramp up the difficulty, so make sure to inspect each one to know which Champions you’ll face, and what other challenges await you. 
• Shadow Price, The SWARM, and Palindrome Adept versions added

Grandmaster Nightfalls Availability

• One Grandmaster Nightfall will be available each week until April 20 
• Starting April 20, you’ll have the opportunity to blaze through all available Grandmaster Nightfalls through a direct launch playlist. 
• If you miss a week, the final three weeks of the Season are your opportunity to catch up! 

Essentially, through these new Strikes, you should be able to get one of the three new Adept Weapons in three weeks as the Grandmaster-difficulty Strikes are rotating on a weekly basis.

There is no word on whether you can earn Adept Weapon Mods and Adept Shaders in the same way, but we’re sure that isn’t outside the realms of the possible.

This will be available starting March 16th, 2021, in the 3.1.1 update dropping.

Flawless Trials Passage

Before this, the only way you could get an Adept Weapon in Destiny 2 was to complete a Flawless Trails Passage, like the Trials of Osiris, and make it to The Lighthouse.

From here, you can open up a Flawless Chest and this will give you an Adept Weapon. Congratulations!

If you don’t get the Adapt Weapon you want though, that might be a little bit of an issue.

They’re only available on a bi-weekly basis from this method so if you do multiple runs, you won’t get a new weapon for a little while.

That being said, Adept Weapon Mods for any Adept Weapons you own will also appear and Adept Shaders can be found during every “repeated run” so it isn’t completely worthless.
