A brand new set of leaks has suggested that COD 2021 is returning to it’s WW2 roots once more following Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: WWII in 2017. Here’s everything that we know about the next Call of Duty title.

It’s been a pretty consistent rumour that Sledgehammer Games were developing the next Call of Duty game, but the recent rise in discussions about COD 2021 returning to the WW2 setting has received mixed responses.

Here’s everything that we know below.

COD 2021 Sub-Titled “WW2: Vanguard”

The prominent Call of Duty leaker ModernWarzone recently shared information that suggests the working title for COD 2021 is “Call of Duty: WW2 Vanguard”.

This pretty much locks in Sledgehammer Games as the primary developers after their 2017 hit, Call of Duty: WWII and it marks an exciting few months for fans of the sub-series.

Annoyingly, this is as far as any leaks or rumours take us. We don’t know if it will follow the same narrative arc, with Daniels as the protagonist, or whether we’re looking at a completely new set of characters.

We don’t even know if it is actually set during the Second World War, or whether COD 2021 will be tackling the world after WW2 from an alternate-timeline perspective in the 1950’s. (Yes, that’s a real rumour that’s going about!)

We’re not sure what we want to see exactly, but with Call of Duty: WWII focusing on a single narrative, it would be nice to see the Second World War from a multi-national perspective like Call of Duty: World at War.

We also just really want a Reznov skin in Warzone and this might be the only way we get it.

For now, all we can do is keep an eye on Sledgehammer Games’ Twitter account and hope for something more.
