The Operators in Call of Duty: Vanguard act as skins in the game, but also have their own perks with each offering bonus XP if you use a certain type of weapon.

How to unlock Shigenori

To unlock Shigenori in Call of Duty: Vanguard you need to “Perform 25 Finishing Moves”. These are done by going behind your opponent and pressing your Melee button, which is bound to F on PC by default. This will play an animation where your opponent is instantly killed. Sneak up on 25 opponents and Shigenori will be unlocked.

“Shigenori was born a descendant of samurai. He was conscripted into the Japanese navy and took part in the invasion of New Guinea. After enduring abuse under his commanding officer and witnessing atrocities influcited by his peers, he was falsely charged for desertion and sentenced to execution. Knowing that he would become a pariah to his people, Shigenori turned himself in to Allied troops and joined their fight.”

Like all of the other Operators, Shigenori has multiple challenges that feature three tiers, each scaling in the amount required.

Once you complete all three tiers for all four challenges you will earn Mastery for Shigenori, by completing Mastery for all three members of the Sentinel Task Force you will unlock the Grim Reaper Title and the Rangefinder Skin.

Here are Shigenori’s challenges,

  • Get 3/5/10 Wins as Shigenori
  • Complete 3/5/10 Finishing Moves as Shigenori
  • Get 10/15/30 Bullet Pen Kills as Shigenori
  • Get 50/100/150 Kills as Shigenori

In addition to leveling up to his Prestige and weapons, you can also level up Operators up to level 20, with each new level unlocking new items.

Here are all of the unlocks for the Shigenori progression.

  • Level 2: Mercy Is Not An Option (Operator Quip)

  • Level 4: Silent Forest (Player Card)
  • Level 5: Seiza (Operator MVP Highlight)
