We all know that Mario loves to Party. The series of Mario Party games tell us that much, right? But, who is the best Mario character to actually party with?

Mario Party games have been entertaining families and friends for years, but have you ever wondered what it is like to actually party with Mario and his friends?

When they’re not trying to pop more balloons than one another, or solving mathematics puzzles based on fruit, we’re sure they all know how to kick back and relax right?

Below, we’re going to rank the best Mario character to party with. I know, I know… We all know Roy would bring something wild to a party, but we’re going to focus on the main cast of characters in an effort to keep things fair.

No one can compete with Roy…

10. Bowser Jr.

We’re sorry but Bowser Jr. is just a straight-up A-hole. You’re hosting a party, too, not some sort of New Super Mario Daycare Deluxe.

Bowser Jr. would just run around causing a mess at your party and laugh at the Hors d’Oeuvres you’re serving. You don’t want him crashing your party.

9. Waluigi

This guy is a straight-up villain and he would 100% attempt to hijack your party with some cockamamie scheme that would totally ruin the vibes you’re trying to bring to your gathering.

Not only this but he is insanely popular. Like the Jock-Character at some fictional High School party, he would be surrounded by a group of equally annoying cronies that would ruin the fun for everyone.

8. Mario

Okay, Mario would be a pretty good guest but he wouldn’t really do anything, right? Everyone would just refer to your party as Mario’s party. He’s almost too famous for your party.

He wouldn’t really help you with anything unless he could rope in his brother or his crush and, quite frankly, there would be more interesting people to invite.

7. Luigi

Luigi would be about as good a guest as Mario except he’d put a little graft in. If you needed entertainment, he would try to help you.

However, he’s also bitter-enough that you would have to make sure you’re keeping him happy or else someone might have a little “accident” on the stairs, if you catch out drift.

6. Bowser

We all know Bowser gets a bit of a bad reputation, but he’s just a dad trying his best right? Well, that means he’ll come with a mixed bag of baggage.

He’d be able to help you set up, but Bowser would probably have to dip-out early to take his kids to bed. Not only this, but we’re pretty confident he would be teetotal so… That’s fine, but not what you’d want to have a kick-ass party right?

5. Wario

Well howdy there, Wario. We’re not sure who invited you but damnit we’re glad they did! We’re not really sure what he’d bring but you know he’d spice up your party with something.

He wouldn’t be afraid to start a drinking game or two and would make sure he’d finish one! Wario is just a chaotic neutral out there to have a good time and with any luck he dances the fine line between “ruining your party” and making it “the best party ever”.

4. Peach

Princess Peach would bring a much-needed class to your affair and almost-definitely be one of the best hosts out there. She is truly an icon and would undoubtedly help you in any way she could.

Sure, she might be a little on the safe side when it comes to party guests but sometimes that isn’t always a bad thing. Peach would be able to keep your party from getting dull, but wouldn’t really be able to take it to the next level.

3. Daisy

Now this is a Princess who knows how to party! Daisy would do everything Princess Peach would for your party, but then throw a little twist into it just for fun.

Playing Charades? Well, now you can’t use your arms. A little bit of Beer Pong? Try doing that with your mouth. We’re not sure how Daisy would spice up your party but she’d make sure you’re on your toes without the risk of ruining everything with an evil scheme. And, let’s be honest, Daisy would be the first to do a shot with you if you asked.

2. Toad

This absolute mad lad is an expert at hosting parties. He is the host of Mario Party, after all! That’s tried and tested experience right there.

Who wouldn’t love to be greeted by Toad as they open the door to a house party? He’s a cheerful chap that would make sure he does everything in his power to ensure you’re having a good time. He’d be happy to see you every time you’d find yourself wandering around and you’d be happy to see a familiar face.

Toad would help you set up, organise, and manage the party. Then, he’d help clean up after! Iconic.

Honourable Mentions

So, we’re about to unveil the best Mario character to party with and we know there is quite a few people missing.

Yoshi would be a great addition to any party line-up but he wouldn’t really bring a lot to the table. Similarly, Shy Guy and Dry Bones would be fantastic crowd-fillers but wouldn’t really stand out.

It’s hard to imagine Rosalina ever even accepting the party invitation to begin with and Monty Mole would be asleep. Moles are nocturnal, right? Either way, that would be the excuse he gives you.

1. Toadette

We know we’re doing Toad dirty like this, but it’s about time Toadette has the spotlight. She does as much, if not more work than Toad for Mario Party and we reckon she’s got what it takes to help you host a killer party!

Toadette would do everything Toad does, but add that little extra bit of charm that Toad lacks. Toad is a bit loud and, in fact, can be quite boisterous. This might be good for when the party is just getting started but his whiny tone could get a bit annoying as the evening wears on.

Toadette would keep things amicable well into the early hours and she’d make sure that you’re having as good time however crazy or calm things are.

Do you think we’ve made the right call? Which Mario character would you want to invite to a party?
