The latest Fortnite vaulted weapons and items have been confirmed following today’s Fortnite v41.20 update, with Epic Games removing four familiar items from the Battle Royale and Zero Build loot pool.
However, the Hunting Rifle vaulting hasn’t gone entirely to plan, as Epic has already acknowledged that some players may still encounter it due to a spawning issue.
Here’s everything that’s been vaulted and what players need to know.
Fortnite Vaulted Weapons and Items in v41.20
Today’s update removes the following items from Battle Royale and Zero Build:
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| Hunting Rifle | Vaulted* |
| Flex SMG | Vaulted |
| Midas Flopper | Vaulted |
| Spicy Fish | Vaulted |
*Epic Games has confirmed the Hunting Rifle may still appear temporarily due to a bug.
Hunting Rifle Vaulting Bug Explained

Shortly after today’s update went live, Epic confirmed the Hunting Rifle wasn’t completely removed from the loot pool as intended.
According to Epic, the Hunting Rifle’s spawn rate wasn’t fully reduced to zero, allowing it to continue appearing in some matches.
The developer has confirmed a fix is already being deployed to ensure the weapon is fully vaulted.
That means if you’ve found a Hunting Rifle after downloading the update, it isn’t intentional.
Why Were These Items Vaulted?
Epic regularly refreshes Fortnite’s loot pool to keep gameplay evolving throughout each season.
By vaulting older weapons, healing items and fish, the developer creates room for newly introduced equipment and returning favourites.
Today’s update also saw the return of the Heavy Impact Sniper Rifle, alongside several gameplay changes and bug fixes.
What Replaced Them?
While these items leave the loot pool, players can now use several additions introduced with the update, including:
- Heavy Impact Sniper Rifle
- Updated Sprite mechanics
- New random gameplay events such as the Battle Bus Rift Ending
- Batman Shape Storm matches
The loot pool is expected to continue evolving as the season progresses.
Will the Vaulted Items Return?
There’s always a chance.
Epic frequently rotates weapons and consumables in and out of the vault throughout each season, meaning today’s removed items could return in a future update or limited-time mode.
For now, players should expect the Flex SMG, Midas Flopper and Spicy Fish to remain unavailable, while the Hunting Rifle should disappear completely once Epic’s spawn-rate fix is deployed.
Fortnite Vaulted Weapons and Items Keep the Loot Pool Fresh
The latest Fortnite vaulted weapons and items continue Epic Games’ regular balance updates, removing four familiar items from Battle Royale and Zero Build. While the Hunting Rifle is still appearing because of a spawning bug, Epic has already confirmed a fix is on the way to complete its removal from the game’s loot pool.
