Treasure Hunters begins on Sunday, 1 November 2026, at 2 PM GMT. You can’t gift the new pass before it launches. Epic has announced a bonus Dark Kawaii Team Leader Outfit style for both the sender and recipient.
Fortnite Treasure Hunters Battle Pass gifting not working: first checks
Enable 2FA and reach level 2. Epic requires two-factor authentication and Fortnite level 2 or higher before you can send gifts. Check your authentication method in Epic account settings under Password and Security.
Check the two-day friend rule. Your recipient must have been on your Friends list for at least two days. Look for their Epic Games display name, which might differ from their console name.
Check the limit and account. Epic allows five gifts in a rolling 24-hour period. Each gift slot resets 24 hours after it was used. The recipient can’t have a negative V-Bucks balance or already own the pass.

Epic suggests switching to another supported 2FA method when the gift option stays missing despite meeting the requirements. Change it in account security settings and reopen Fortnite. Keep 2FA enabled. Epic also says an earlier greyed-out Battle Pass gift-button issue has been resolved, so try the button again.
Why can you gift one friend but not another?

How to gift the Treasure Hunters Battle Pass
Open Fortnite’s Battle Passes tab and select the pass. If you don’t own it, Epic’s instructions say to choose Get the Battle Pass to reach the relevant screen. Select Gift Battle Pass, choose the correct friend and complete payment. This isn’t the regular Item Shop gifting menu.

My friend hasn’t received the gift. What now?

Epic promises an Outfit style to both accounts when the Battle Pass is gifted. It’s not a full Outfit or a bonus for buying the pass for yourself. Check the gift was sent to the intended friend. The advance announcement doesn’t give an exact time for the style to arrive.
Can you refund a Battle Pass gift?
Sent gifts are non-refundable. An unused pass gift token is different: Epic says its cost is returned as V-Bucks when the season ends. That’s not a cash refund. Pass gifting also closes near the season’s end.
Still seeing an error on PC? Epic suggests removing Fortnite’s temporary local files after other checks. That can reset in-game settings, so record them before following its instructions. On any platform, check server downtime before retrying.
