Fortnite Rowena Rabbit Sidekick arrived during the first week of Fortnitemares 2026 and gives players another permanent companion to customise. The pre-release questions around timing are now less useful than the live price, purchase window and what Epic says the Sidekick can unlock after you buy it.
Rowena is not a free quest reward and there is no hidden Battle Royale extraction requirement. The live Item Shop card now provides the information that was missing before release, so this page can finally answer the buying question without estimates.

Fortnite Rowena Rabbit Sidekick costs 1,200 V-Bucks in the live Item Shop. Epic’s official card lists Rowena as purchasable until October 15, 2026 at 12:00 AM in the local-time display used by the Shop page.
That makes Rowena a normal paid Sidekick offer rather than a Battle Pass unlock. If the card disappears after the listed window, check the live Item Shop tracker for a return instead of assuming the Sidekick has been removed permanently.
What you get with Rowena Rabbit
The Fortnite Rowena Rabbit Sidekick belongs to the Vicious Little Rabbit set and is marked as customisable with unlockable styles. Epic also says the purchase includes quests that unlock new items when completed.
As with other Sidekicks, Rowena reacts to the world around you but does not detect enemies or items for you. In Battle Royale, only your team can see your Sidekicks, while visibility can vary in other Fortnite experiences.
How Sidekick customisation works
Epic’s Fortnite Rowena Rabbit Sidekick card carries the important “customize once” warning. Physical appearance choices are locked in after purchase, so do not rush through the initial setup just to get the companion onto your loadout.
Sidekick names and accessories are handled differently from the permanent appearance decision. The safest approach is to preview the body options carefully, lock the look you actually want, and only then start working through the included unlock quests.
How to buy Fortnite Rowena Rabbit Sidekick
- Open Fortnite and enter the Item Shop.
- Find Rowena Rabbit in the current Fortnitemares or Sidekick offers.
- Confirm the 1,200 V-Bucks price on the live card.
- Open the preview and inspect the customisable appearance options before purchasing.
- After buying, complete the included Sidekick quests to unlock the extra items tied to Rowena.
The Fortnite Rowena Rabbit Sidekick can also be checked through Epic’s web Item Shop, which is useful if you want to confirm the price and purchase window before loading the game.
Is Rowena Rabbit free?
No. Fortnite Rowena Rabbit Sidekick is a paid 1,200 V-Bucks Item Shop cosmetic. Epic’s card does include quests, but those quests are attached to the purchased Sidekick and should not be confused with a free Fortnitemares unlock route.
That distinction matters because Fortnite has other companions and event rewards that can be earned through passes or quests. Rowena’s current live acquisition method is direct Shop purchase.
What makes Rowena different from a Back Bling
A Sidekick is an active companion cosmetic rather than a static Back Bling. Fortnite Rowena Rabbit Sidekick reacts to your surroundings and follows the Sidekick visibility rules Epic introduced for the system.
The companion does not provide a competitive detection advantage. Epic specifically states that Sidekicks do not detect enemies or items, so Rowena is cosmetic and expressive rather than a gameplay scouting tool.
What to check before spending V-Bucks
- Make sure the live card still shows the 1,200 V-Bucks price.
- Read the “customize once” warning before locking Rowena’s physical appearance.
- Check the listed Shop end date if you are waiting for more V-Bucks.
- Remember that the included quests unlock extra items after purchase rather than making the base Sidekick free.
- Use the Item Shop tracker if Rowena rotates out and you want to watch for a return.
Fortnite Rowena Rabbit Sidekick is therefore a straightforward purchase now that the live card exists: 1,200 V-Bucks, customisable appearance, unlockable styles and post-purchase quests. The only part worth treating carefully is the permanent appearance choice, because that is much harder to undo than buying the wrong emote.
For collectors, Fortnite Rowena Rabbit Sidekick is now a live Shop decision with a known price and end window, so there is no need to rely on the old pre-release timing guess.
If you already own other Sidekicks, the main decision is whether Rowena’s permanent appearance options and unlock quests are worth another 1,200 V-Bucks rather than whether the companion provides any combat advantage.
