Fortnite Hollow Knight Sidekick arrived in Fortnite’s Item Shop on October 8, 2026, bringing The Knight into the game as a Sidekick rather than an Outfit. The character from Hollow Knight accompanies you during matches, and Epic sells it for 1,500 V-Bucks on its own or as part of a 2,000 V-Bucks bundle with the Knight’s Nail Pickaxe and Hallownest Grub Back Bling.
The distinction is important for anyone expecting to play as the masked protagonist. You cannot equip The Knight as your character skin, and the Sidekick’s appearance cannot be customised through the usual Sidekick options. It does, however, have quests that unlock additional items. Here’s what each Item Shop offer actually contains and when the collaboration is scheduled to leave.
Fortnite Hollow Knight Sidekick release date and price
The Knight became available with the October 8 Item Shop rotation, which was 1am BST in the UK. Epic’s official Shop lists the Sidekick at 1,500 V-Bucks and classifies it as a Gaming Legends Series cosmetic from Chapter 7 Season 4. It’s labelled as part of the Hollow Knight set, and the Shop currently indicates an October 14, 2026 removal date at its listed local time.
The Fortnite Hollow Knight Sidekick is the original game’s small, mask-wearing protagonist recreated as a companion. Sidekicks react to the game world, but Epic says they cannot detect enemies or items for you. In Battle Royale, only your own team can see your Sidekicks. The rules can differ in other Fortnite experiences.

Fortnite Hollow Knight Sidekick bundle contents
Epic’s Hollow Knight Bundle costs 2,000 V-Bucks, reduced from the combined individual-item price of 2,700 V-Bucks. The bundle has three cosmetics, each with a different function:
| Cosmetic | Type | Individual price |
|---|---|---|
| The Knight | Sidekick | 1,500 V-Bucks |
| The Knight’s Nail | Pickaxe | 800 V-Bucks |
| Hallownest Grub | Back Bling | 400 V-Bucks |
| Hollow Knight Bundle | All three cosmetics | 2,000 V-Bucks |
Buying all three separately costs 2,700 V-Bucks at the advertised prices, so the bundle saves 700. If you only want the companion, the 1,500-V-Bucks Sidekick is cheaper than the full set. If you also want to carry the Nail as your harvesting tool and wear the Grub on your back, the bundle is the better-priced option.
How to get The Knight Sidekick in Fortnite
Launch Fortnite and open the Item Shop. Find the Hollow Knight section, then select The Knight for the 1,500-V-Bucks standalone offer or open the Hollow Knight Bundle for the discounted pack. The purchase screen displays everything included before you spend V-Bucks. After buying, equip The Knight through the Sidekicks area of your Locker.
Be careful not to confuse The Knight’s Nail Pickaxe with the companion. The Pickaxe is usable as a harvesting tool, but buying it alone does not unlock the Sidekick. Hallownest Grub is also separate and occupies the Back Bling slot, not the Sidekick slot.
Fortnite Hollow Knight Sidekick quests and unlockable items
Epic’s official description states that The Knight includes quests that unlock new items after completion. The same listing labels the companion with built-in and unlockable styles, but explicitly says its appearance cannot be customised. That means you should follow the quest panel and actual reward descriptions rather than assume you can freely switch the Sidekick’s design.
The full quest-by-quest objectives and rewards are not published on Epic’s official product listing. To see them, equip The Knight and open the relevant quest screen in-game. Complete only the objectives shown for your account. No specific reward should be promised based on early catalogue images that do not show how the quests unlock it.
Fortnite Hollow Knight Sidekick rewards: all four unlocks
The Knight’s quests offer more than a progress bar. Four Hollow Knight-themed rewards are available through Sidekick progression: a Banner Icon, the Hollow Knight’s Heart Reaction, a Shade Soul style for The Knight, and the Knight’s Bench Emote. You work towards these after buying the Sidekick; they aren’t four extras automatically added to your Locker when you purchase the bundle.
| Reward | What you unlock |
|---|---|
| Hollow Knight Banner Icon | A banner featuring The Knight |
| Hollow Knight’s Heart | A Sidekick Reaction |
| The Knight (Shade Soul) | An alternate dark appearance for The Knight |
| Knight’s Bench | A themed bench Emote |
To check your Fortnite Hollow Knight Sidekick progress, go to Quests, return to the category list if necessary, and select the Sidekicks paw icon. Choose The Knight to see which objectives remain. Epic also offers a route through Locker, Sidekicks, selecting The Knight and choosing Go to Quest. If you’ve already completed every objective, the Sidekick may no longer appear in that quest list.
How to get the Shade Soul style for the Fortnite Hollow Knight Sidekick
Shade Soul is part of The Knight’s own Sidekick reward track. Keep the companion equipped while earning Sidekick Points in eligible experiences, then claim the style when you’ve met the requirements shown in your Quests tab. It is not a second playable Outfit and isn’t sold as an additional 1,500 V-Bucks character.
Epic says The Knight’s appearance cannot be freely customised, but that doesn’t prevent an included unlockable style. You can earn the specific alternate design provided for this Sidekick. There is no open-ended colour editor for The Knight, so don’t expect the same customisation options you might have seen on other companions.
The Knight’s Nail Pickaxe and Pure Nail style
The 800-V-Bucks Knight’s Nail is a Pickaxe, completely separate from the Fortnite Hollow Knight Sidekick companion slot. Epic’s product page confirms that the Nail has two selectable styles, The Knight’s Nail and Pure Nail. Open the Pickaxe in your Locker and use its style selector to choose your preferred look; purchasing the Nail alone won’t add The Knight as a Sidekick.
The Hallownest Grub costs 400 V-Bucks individually and occupies your Back Bling slot. Buying the 2,000-V-Bucks Hollow Knight Bundle gives you all three cosmetics, but Sidekick progression is still something you complete through play. If you want every part of the crossover, the bundle saves 700 V-Bucks over buying each item separately.
Can you play as Hollow Knight in Fortnite?
No. The Fortnite Hollow Knight Sidekick is a companion and is not an Outfit for your playable character. You can wear the Nail Pickaxe and Grub Back Bling with your preferred Fortnite Outfit, while The Knight follows your team around. Sidekicks are cosmetic and do not reveal hidden enemies or loot, so purchasing the companion won’t give you a combat advantage.
Epic also says the Fortnite Hollow Knight Sidekick appearance cannot be customised. Although The Knight’s product page displays unlockable content, that does not turn the companion into an Outfit or give you a selection of standard character skins.
When does the Fortnite Hollow Knight Sidekick leave the Item Shop?
Epic’s online offer pages show October 14, 2026 as the current end date. Shops rotate and an item’s return cannot be guaranteed, so treat that date as the available buying window rather than assuming the bundle will remain all month. Check the countdown and offers inside Fortnite for your account’s display of the removal time.
The bundle and the standalone Sidekick are separate Shop offers. If you only purchase The Knight today, the full bundle may later show adjusted pricing based on ownership, but any such personalised discount must be checked in the game rather than assumed here.

The Fortnite Hollow Knight Sidekick is best for players who want the Hollow Knight character travelling alongside them, not those looking for a playable Outfit. Epic’s 1,500-V-Bucks standalone offer gets the companion, while the 2,000-V-Bucks bundle adds the Nail and Grub at a discount.
