Epic AI MegaJam UEFN submission requires the private version code for your finished, playable Fortnite island. Epic won’t accept a regular published island code or a playtest code, even if either currently opens your game. You must also provide your team details, the island name and a 30 to 60-second gameplay video link.
The entry deadline is Sunday 15 November 2026 at 8:59 PM EST, which means 1:59 AM GMT on Monday 16 November in the UK. Your final private version must be created and the form submitted before that time. Late entries are disqualified.
Epic AI MegaJam UEFN submission checklist
Have everything ready before opening the entry form. The Epic AI MegaJam UEFN submission checklist covers both the people who made your game and the exact version the judges will play:
- Your team name and every team member’s full name
- Each member’s email address linked to their Epic Games account
- The finished island name and private version code
- A link to 30 to 60 seconds of gameplay footage
- A development log link if entering the Glass Box modifier award; optional for other entries
UEFN teams enter these details on Epic’s official itch.io jam submission page. You don’t need to upload a packaged Unreal Engine game or a ZIP of your UEFN project. Your private version code is the playable build judges will use.

How to create the private version code in UEFN
Open your finished island in Unreal Editor for Fortnite. On the toolbar, select Project → Publish Project. That creates a private version of the island, which is a fixed snapshot rather than a public release. Make sure the build works before you generate the code.
Open Creator Portal, choose Projects and select your island. Under Publishing → Private Versions, find the version you created and copy its code. Keep the code with your team submission details so you don’t accidentally use an earlier build.
Your Epic AI MegaJam UEFN submission should point to the final version you want judged. Editing your project afterwards doesn’t change that snapshot. If you fix something before the deadline, generate and test a new private version, then use its code on the entry form.
Why a public island code or playtest code won’t work
The whole point is to give every judge the same game. A live island code can lead to an updated release, while a playtest code can be moved to another private version. That’s why Epic’s MegaJam rules reject both. The private version preserves the build you submitted.
You don’t need to release the island publicly in Discover just to enter the MegaJam. In Creator Portal, creating a private version and creating a public release are different steps. For the competition, you need the private version code, not the public publishing and moderation workflow.
Epic AI MegaJam UEFN submission deadline and UK time
Epic lists the cutoff as Sunday 15 November at 5:59 PM PST / 8:59 PM EST. The UK deadline is Monday 16 November at 1:59 AM GMT. The jam opens on 12 November at 5 AM GMT, so creators have four days to finish their entries.
A finished island sitting in UEFN isn’t a submitted entry. Your private version code, video link and team information must reach the itch.io form before it closes. For an Epic AI MegaJam UEFN submission, leave enough time to check the code and make sure the footage link works.
Epic AI MegaJam UEFN submission video requirements
The entry needs a 30 to 60-second gameplay video link. Show what the player actually does, ideally making the main mechanic clear at the start. The judges need to see your game in action, not just a title screen or a collection of cinematic shots.
The Epic AI MegaJam UEFN submission video is different from a promotional trailer for Fortnite Discover. Epic normally recommends 15 to 30 seconds for those trailers, but MegaJam requires 30 to 60 seconds of gameplay footage. Use the jam’s video requirement even if you’ve already made a shorter Discover trailer.
How to send your Epic AI MegaJam UEFN submission
Once you’ve tested the final version, return to the official 2026 AI MegaJam page on itch.io and follow the submission process. Enter the team name, each member’s name and Epic-linked email, your island name, the private version code and the gameplay video link. Include a development log if you’re entering the Glass Box modifier.
Check the code and video link before sending the form. A wrong version code could point judges to an unfinished build, while missing team details can leave the entry incomplete. This is worth double-checking before the deadline rather than relying on a last-minute correction.

Can you continue developing after the jam?
Yes. You can continue developing after the jam, but the submitted private version stays as it was when you created it. Later edits won’t change that snapshot. Keep a record of the code, your video link and the version you’ve submitted, especially if you plan to apply for a Development Continuation Grant.
For an Epic AI MegaJam UEFN submission, the order is straightforward: finish and test the island, create a private version, copy its code, record gameplay and complete the itch.io form. Our Epic AI MegaJam entry guide covers registration, team sizes, the theme reveal and the prizes.
