Dress to Impress Skin Colours: How to Use HEX Codes and Patterns

Dress to Impress Skin Colours are much more flexible after the Halloween 2026 update. You can enter an exact HEX value, pick a shade from the colour wheel or palette, and add skin details without being limited to the old preset grid. You can even recolour vitiligo patterns.

You can use the new controls to match a character reference or repeat a favourite colour without trying to find the same spot on a wheel every round. Here’s how the menu works, including the separate controls for skin patches.

Where to change Dress to Impress Skin Colours

Head to the skin-tone booths in Lana’s Salon, which is connected to the dressing area. Interact with the booth to open the new skin customisation menu. The Halloween 2026 redesign separates the tools into Details, Skin and Skin Color sections.

If you remember the earlier colour grid, the new system works in the same part of the room; it’s the interface that’s expanded. These features arrived with Dress to Impress Halloween 2026, alongside new outfits, Baddie Pass rewards and minigames.

How to enter Dress to Impress Skin Colours with HEX codes

The Dress to Impress Skin Colours menu now offers three ways to choose a base tone. Select a preset from the palette, adjust the wheel by eye or enter a HEX colour value if you need an exact match. A HEX colour is a six-character colour code, normally written with a # symbol, such as #BE94A1.

  1. Enter a skin-tone booth in Lana’s Salon.
  2. Open the Skin Color controls.
  3. Choose the HEX option instead of the preset palette or wheel.
  4. Enter the colour you want, following the field’s on-screen format.
  5. Apply the selection and look at the avatar in the full dressing-room lighting.
  6. Adjust the value or switch back to the wheel if the shade isn’t quite right.

For example, #BFF5BA is a pale green suitable for a fantasy creature, while #BE94A1 is a muted rose shade. These are example colour codes, not special redemption codes. The exact result depends on the lighting and avatar textures.

HEX codes versus the colour wheel

With Dress to Impress Skin Colours, the wheel is best for experimenting. If you already know the shade you want, enter its six-digit HEX value so you can recreate it later during a timed round.

ControlBest for
PaletteQuickly choosing a familiar preset skin tone
Colour wheelExperimenting with natural, bright or fantasy shades
HEX fieldMatching a precise colour from a reference
Details and patternsLayering markings over the base colour

Don’t confuse the skin HEX box with the handbag icon used to redeem Dress to Impress codes. A colour value adjusts the appearance of your avatar; it doesn’t add a new outfit to your account.

How do Dress to Impress skin patterns work?

The Dress to Impress Skin Colours update also makes patterns and details easier to customise. Select the base skin tone first, then open the relevant Skin or Details controls to explore markings that appear over it. Vitiligo patterns can now be recoloured, meaning their appearance is no longer fixed to a single contrasting colour.

Choose a patch colour close to your base tone for a subtle effect, or increase the contrast for a fantasy look. Body details and face makeup are separate, so you’ll need to visit the makeup station if you also want to change the eyes or lips.

Some advanced skin-detail options are sold separately, including the Spooktacular skin details offering. The regular vitiligo option remains available without buying that add-on. Check each item label before spending Robux because the redesigned menu contains both free and paid choices.

Can you make fantasy skin tones?

Yes. Dress to Impress Skin Colours can be used for green, blue, purple and other non-natural tones, not just ordinary complexion shades. If you’re dressing as a witch, alien or fantasy character, start with a base shade and then use the hair, makeup and clothing options to pull everything together.

Using HEX entry is especially handy when you already know the colour you’re aiming for. You can keep a short personal list of shades for favourite outfits without trying to remember exactly where you clicked the wheel. For more outfit options, see our free items guide.

Dress to Impress Skin Colours not changing or HEX not working?

If the Dress to Impress Skin Colours HEX field won’t apply your choice, check that you’re in the correct Skin Color tab rather than the pattern or details panel. Enter a normal six-digit hexadecimal value and use the menu’s apply or confirmation control. If a value is rejected, remove spaces and check for letters outside A–F.

If the menu appears to be missing entirely, leave the session and join a newer server with the October 17 update or later. If a skin detail unexpectedly asks for Robux, read its label carefully: some options are paid, while players reported temporary pricing or access confusion with individual details during the launch weekend.

There is no need to spend Halloween Candy Corn just to enter a new HEX base tone. Candy Corn is for rewards in the seasonal shop, as explained in our Halloween Candy Farming guide. The HEX tool and the separate code redemption system serve completely different purposes.

Do the new Dress to Impress Skin Colours stay after Halloween?

The Dress to Impress Skin Colours menu arrived with the October 2026 customisation update. The November 7 Halloween deadline applies to the seasonal event; no separate removal date has been announced for these controls.

For a matching outfit, keep the HEX value handy and return to the Skin Color panel whenever you want to recreate the same shade in a new round.
