Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt has ten ghosts to photograph, and all ten are inside the Haunted House at the Haunted Floating Festival. You’ll find two in the entrance room, three in the storage room, three along the hallway and two in the locked bedroom. Use your Royal Phone camera to make each ghost disappear.
The puzzle unlocked on October 18, 2026 and awards a placeable Ghost furniture item. Outdoor ghosts are decorations, not the targets for this hunt. If you’ve been searching the island’s paths without finding all ten, head back into the Haunted House and check every room.
How to start Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt
Enter the Haunted Floating Festival through the Plaza event portal or Event tab Teleport option. Head to the Haunted House, the building used for the Haunted Key and Haunted Library puzzles, and enter its first room. This isn’t the large mansion-like structure elsewhere on the island.
Look towards the left corner for a small table with Night Thorns. Beside it, near the glowing book used in Release the Curse, is a sparkling disposable camera. Interact with it to start the Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt. Using your normal camera without first triggering this object isn’t the documented starting method.
All ten Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt ghost locations
The ghosts that count towards Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt are inside the Haunted House. Work room by room instead of wandering around the festival exterior. Successful photos make the target vanish, and you can catch more than one ghost in a single photograph if your framing allows it.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt storage room and bedroom
The three storage-room ghosts are near the hanging shelves, above the mimic chest and near the red chest. Some players call this area the cellar. The main entrance room contains two more ghosts, and the corridor beyond it has three. Finally, the bedroom has two moving apparitions at different heights.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt ghosts not appearing or disappearing
Ghosts outside the Haunted House aren’t part of the ten-photo objective. If a ghost inside doesn’t vanish, take another picture with it clearly in the frame. If your counter is still short, revisit the storage room, hallway and bedroom; several ghosts are hard to see because they move or change size.
Some players have found fewer than ten active ghosts even after visiting all four rooms. Leaving and re-entering or restarting the game may be worth trying, although not every reported spawning issue has a confirmed fix. The Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt reward only unlocks after all ten photos have registered.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt furniture reward and missing pouch
After the last Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt photo registers, a Haunted Floating Festival Pouch should appear with the placeable Ghost furniture item. It may drop near your final photo, but some players have found the pouch back in their main Valley rather than inside the Haunted House.
If your Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt reward hasn’t appeared, check your inventory and return to your regular Valley. Players have reported reward bags near their houses, in the Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, Forest of Valor and Frosted Heights. Furniture Mode can make a misplaced bag easier to spot. The Ghost reward is separate from the earlier Chomping Chest and Eerie Basement Door.
Do you need to complete earlier puzzles?
Gameloft calls Ghost Hunt the final mansion mystery, but doesn’t name a separate item or prerequisite purchase for it. You do need to access the room with the sparkling disposable camera. If that room is unavailable, work through the Haunted Key and Release the Curse steps, then return.
The Disney Dreamlight Valley Ghost Hunt can be attempted during the October 18 phase. If the camera isn’t present, double-check that you’re inside the Haunted House and that the event is updated before assuming the puzzle is broken.
When does Ghost Hunt end?
The Haunted Floating Festival runs until October 31, 2026. Complete the ten photos and pick up the furniture pouch before the island event ends. Gameloft confirmed October 18 as the unlock date, but didn’t announce an exact hour.
